Div 1 promotion

Recommended Posts

As always in this division.

I also think AFC Croydon Athletic will finish strongly, but they have arguably played too many fixtures. For Epsom Athletic the opposite is the case and they won't be playing home games anytime soon either.

For me it looks like the only team that could get involved apart from the ones that are alreay holding the position is MVSCR. They've been there before and the ground grading won't be an issue at Cobham.

If not, then can Eversley, Spelthorne or South Kilburn pass the gradings? If not, it will be just two coming up.

The one surprise here is Staines Lammas. Redrup, you've said about four cups that you remain in and I know you did well in them last year, but surely promotion is a priority? Otherwise there seems little point in ground sharing at Ashford Town.

My advice would be to enter less competitions. How many do you actually enter at the start of the season?

I agree fred I'd rather not be in all these cups and win promotion any day of the week as I've said before, but we ain't getting promotion this year, personally were well out of it so now we turn our attention to these cups and try turn it into a half decent season. We enter 5 or 6 I think in not too sure and it is a lot of money were paying to Groundshare with Ashford but our chairman must believe and hope we can get promotion in the next 2 seasons. All I can say is that since the new management have taken over its been refreshing, new faces coming in and a sense of a good atmosphere again. A tough Feb coming up for us where I think we have Eversley twice, Epsom and SK I think so it will be intresting too see where we are.

Well obviously we won the league back to back about 3 or 4 years ago now and unfortunately didn't have the right ground grading to go up which was a shame. Our 3rd season at Ashford now and I think we've only started to get used to the pitch and starting to call it home. With Laleham rec it was a small compact pitch where we used to be able to play some decent football, then when we've moved to Ashford, being a bigger pitch we started playing the long ball game and it just didn't work. I think over the last 3 months since a change of manager they've changed out style of play as in keeping the ball on the floor more and hit the right areas at the right time which seems to be working for us at the moment. I'm always hopeful of promotion but every year the leagues getting stronger and getting alot tougher to win!

lammas would be the same as us an hanworth holding there own in the league above easily an redders is right lammas rec was a good place for us when we won it the first season not many teams liked playing there its a shame the lights were refused because its greenbelt land so therefore there only choice was to groundshare an after winning it the second time an not going up half the team left for pastures new, an because we got sick of nathans voice lol, and are all plying there trade in coco prem an above i hope they eventually come up cant see it this year but i hope they do i have a lot of love for the club!!

will sk cant see there ground passing an what with this rumour there out of it if they lose points!!

Cheers but we all know Div 1 is tough to get out of and usually demands form after Christmas / New Year break.

ATM with no games it's anyone's guess who'll push for top 3 finishes, all teams appear on their day capable of beating each other.

There will be plenty twists and turns before this one is decided.

Frimley had a big dip in form in December and have not played a league game for a month, will that effect them? Eversley have lost baker for 6 weeks, will that effect them.? Big few months coming up and the league looks wide open. I wouldn't like to pick 3 right now.

Agreed Frimley had a dip, but I don't think that will affect them. I strongly believe they will win the league, purely because as a club I think it will be deemed a huge embarrassment not to win the league when a Div 1 club has the finances it does. So I think they will do whatever it takes to save face. With Eversley, I don't think Baker will be a massive loss if I'm honest. Without him in the side, they still have a squad good enough to gain promotion, and I think your find other strikers striving to become that main man. Consistency seems to be there issue, which is why it's a big test for them with all the Tuesday coming up. ( my opinion, no digs intended )

It's definitely going to be tight. Still think Frimley will be too strong and will end up as champs. Westfield just seem to have the ability to keep winning this season and are probably in the most consistent form, if that continues then they should be good for second. Third place though is definitely up for grabs and most will have their eye on this last promotion. Eversley have lost Baker but have signed Rossoni so this could be their saving grace but I just can't see them going the distance - think it will be between South Kilburn, Mole Valley, Spelthorne and Croydon personally.

I really hope Westfield come up because I like the club, barring 1 incident eh NLN ;), and they have decent facilities now which will add to the Prem.

After that not too bothered but I do really hope all the top 3 are able to go up otherwise it makes a mockery of it all.

westfield do usually fade away i hope not there ground improvements would probably be the best of both divisions!! thats why there not in my top three sorry nln ;)

We take inspiration from Sports last season. Not spectacular but grind results out. Yes we've had a few late goals but as someone pointed out its a winning mentality

One thing the league need to do is- schedule the final round of games at the end of the season at the same time. I'm convinced it will go down to the final day
