Margate.....groundhoppers paradise!!!

From NLM..................

Saturday 12 January 2013 – Sussex County Division 1 – Attendance: 00

Rye United P – P Shoreham

… then on to:

Saturday 12 January 2013 – Isthmian Premier – Attendance: 000

Margate P – P Leiston

Pitches: Rye United – not known, called off late-morning. Margate – three large boggy patches were the concerns for the referee and rightly so. 85% of the pitch was playable, but these three areas had not received proper attention from the ground-staff and as the pitch was clearly under-prepared the inevitable decision was made by the referee.

Onion-Bag recently shot Margate down in flames and Margate must take full responsibility for this postponement.

Weather: light rain when I left London, fine when I reached Ashford and also fine in Margate. I didn’t see this double postponement coming

Café/Pub: Mechanical Elephant (’spoons) Marine Terrace, Margate (6/10) and Papp’s Fish & Chips, Belgrave Road, Margate (7/10)

Sad thing is both teams wanted to play, but the Ref had other ideas. As regards the three areas that needed attention (Graham - our Groundsman) worked like a man possessed to try and get the game on but the weather (records broken with the amount of rain that has fallen) won and we the fans lost. To the player from Leiston that Twattered remarks about MFC, with the grammar of a 10 year old half wit - cant wait to play you in Feb/Mar when Im hoping the Blues will make you eat your ill chosen words.... Name and shame Mr Nathan Stone.

Sheer professionalism there. Is it any surprise some clubs put restrictions on players comments on social network sites in their contracts?

Were RS Southampton a Sunday league team that did well for a few years. (In the TUFC days)
