Confusion over Admission Prices???

Yesterday a man and his son, aged 11, came to the game and when they came through the turnstile the man was querying why his son had been charged as he previously has never been charged for his son coming in and he quoted that the club website says that his son should be free - the man was taken aback/a bit upset.

I believe that he was told that we now charge for 11 year olds and had been doing so since the beginning of the season and I believe (but I could be wrong) that this was subsequently confirmed by one of our directors.

So I don't know if this is a change in pricing policy or just a mistake as:

- The club website quotes admission and season tickets as '11 and under Free'

- the Season Tickets themselves have a tick box for '12-16'

- Posters say 'U12 Free'

- this week's free newspaper (Post), which had us as 'game of the week' quoted that 'Children under 11 get in free if accompanied by a paying adult' (I thought the club had dropped the paying adult bit this season)

(Someone said yesterday that the Recorder had it wrong and had us down as charging £12 for adults but I have checked the paper and this relates to part of the article about Salisbury and relates to Salisbury's admission prices not ours)

Please can someone from the club please confirm the pricing policy of 11 year olds (because if we do now charge for 11 year olds our website, season tickets, PR etc. are all wrong/need to change) and can they also confirm whether the charge for the man/his son stood yesterday??

I think its ridiculous that its January and this has become an issue.

This season and last it was agreed with the club by the SA to charge UNDER 12's free.

There is no point us advertising under 12's free when later on in the season they have to pay.

Our gate was low again Saturday and will be even lower next game as I doubt this fan and his son will be back,he was nearly in tears as he felt aggrieved

I cannot say whether the Club has changed its pricing structure but I can confirm that as the person who printed the Season Tickets I was advised BY THE CLUB that under 12's would be admitted free. That's why the Season Ticket has a tick box for 12 to 16's. If you are under 12 you don't need a Season Ticket as entry is (was) free. I can only assume that the Director in question was in error.

And people wonder why we get low attendances, the bloke and his lad might not bother coming anymore, he might have spent say £20 on the day which won't be too much of a loss but imagine how many people they've told of being ripped off who might be turned off coming over to the Bridge, how many people do the experts say you tell when you've had a bad customer experience ? 20 is it ?

I think it came onto the forum as those on the day,not yourself Colin, were adamant that it was under 11s.

Steve kept saying that the recorder had it down as under 11s but surely members of the SA,who have actively seeked to get people in,printing various literature off and handing them out, should be listened to instead of a local paper, who do at times get things wrong.

This whole episode could of been avoided if someone listened to me and the other members on around the gate.We don't want to run the club but I do feel that we know enough that on these occasions we could be listened to,had that happened yesterday, none of this would need to come on this forum.

I love it when a plan comes together.

Crowds have gone down generally across the board - not least because of the economy and other attractions (e.g. Games Consoles). I don't think an isolated mistake is going to have a major impact - that's just my opinion though.

No chance of my concession being taken away by the Tories is there, along with my freedom pass and heating allowance?

At some grounds it will but last time I went to Chelmsford concessions started at 65, but I fibbed and got away with it.

Was gonna say flash the Freedom pass but not sure when you might get it.

No confusion at Chelmsford over admission prices, it's £7.50 for over 65's, so a woman between 60 and 65 drawing a state pension will not get a concession, all on their website..
