More Good News For CB Hounslow United

Recommended Posts

I thought promoted clubs had a grace period to put in place the required ground grading.

Not now the FA are in control of everything from step 7 upwards. To get promoted to step 6 you need an 'H' grade which includes floodlights. This is why clubs without a grade 'G' in division one have to be relegated. It's not the league's choice. As far as I'm aware the only step 6 league this doesn't yet apply to is the Kent Invicta which is only two years old. Their clubs have another three years to get the grading before being relegated.

Apart from the Hellenic League, everyone else in the country has been implementing the grading regulations at step 6 for years. We're the last area to catch up, probably due to the fact CCL 1 is only a few years old.

Still, it'll be good to have Old Farnboronians in the league. They wanted to join a couple of years ago from the Aldershot & District. I was against that at the time as it was a two step jump. Now they've proven themselves in the Surrey Elite I wish them well.

Bang up to date Elite league table here - http://spiderbee.tripod.com/cwufc/id15.html

Claygate & Ditton have withdrawn and their record expunged.

Good to see Virginia Water getting a couple of wins recently.

I thought the CCL stance was slightly different to the above. I might be wrong though.

Old Farnboronians may have issues installing a stand at the Cody Sports Ground. We met the ground managers at the start of last season, with regards to our youth team playing there and they made it very clear they wouldn't approve a stand.

***************BORING, LONG POST ALERT***********************

Still three up Chubby. At least for this season.

I hope CB's announcement has done enough to keep them in the league but, as per usual, there are so many possible factors like how many go up from the Premier Division (maximum of two), if we get any down from step 4 and if any of the Division One clubs can't come up due to grading. There's also the possibility of clubs switching leagues. Dorking Wanderers wanted to last season - do they still want to come across in which case they'll be put straight into the Premier Division?

Wanderers are struggling a bit this season and in danger of relegation so it might be that they end up in CCL1.

Virginia Water have just been granted planning permission for flood lights and a 200 seater stand ;-)

Great news that! Lovely club that I always enjoy visiting.

Agreed, although I haven't been there for years. I've been close to going a couple of times recently but never got around to it.

I'm surprised this news isn't all over VW's new Twitter and website. They used to have an excellent, up to date, website but I suppose whoever done that has left as the site has died a death so it's good to see a new one up and running.

They certainly seem to have turned a corner since Ellers arrived. With all that CCL experience on and off the pitch I assume they'll be looking for promotion next season.

Are you sure Ellers didn't just have his tongue in his cheek with that comment?!

I think you're right Jurgs. The groundhoppers on NLM would love news that another club is getting floodlights but I didn't mention it on there as I wasn't sure if I should believe Ellers or not. Like I said, the news would be on their website. I hope they do it in the future though.

Guys it was tongue in cheek however the club is hoping to turn things around on the pitch first then off it, I'm not sure if we can get promoted to the CCL with the current set up, if that changes then were give it a go, if we can't go up we're just have to except it and try to be the best club on and off the pitch at this standard, got to say tho, I am really enjoying it, bit of shock playing on a Ski Slope on Saturday with a skipping rope around the pitch and a two seater bench which they brought out in a box Lol!

Were looking for match day volunteers if anybody is interested, the club has great banter and a lovely set up.

Doesn't sound like it's changed much since I was there in the mid to late 90's, as the banter was the best at any club I've been involved in.
