More Good News For CB Hounslow United

Recommended Posts

Many moons ago, this site was targetted by Feltham FC as their potential new home.

CBHUFC will attract huge support from the area IMHO!

Relegation's always puzzled me from CCL1, people only normally drop down if they're struggling with costs or players!

I don't ever remember a club since Div 1 started that actually got booted for finishing in the relegation's spots. Providing CBH can keep up with finances and are not mega adrift at the bottom, then they'll stay in the league, I'm sure of it!

Congrats though CBH, some hard working people there as mentioned already ;)

Reckon any possible relegation may depend on how many suitable applicants we have for next season.

I can't see too many suitable new members on the horizon and surely this possible move forward for CB should be encouraged by continuing their membership of the CCL?

Anyone got any thoughts on any possible new clubs for next season out there?

In the Surrey Elite League (where Epsom Athletic got promoted from) your top 4 are Yateley Green (ground = railings and duggouts), Horsley FC (railings and duggouts), Old Farnbronians (play at Farnborough North End's old ground so got floodlights & clubhouse with railings and duggouts) and Coulsdon Town, who I know nothing about except I believe they used to be in CC1? Perhaps one or two of those teams may apply to join CC1?

In the Middlesex County Prem you have a top 3 that includes British Airways FC, Interwood and FC Romania. FC Romania wish to progress through the steps and currently play at Eton Wick FC who used to be Hellenic Div1? I know nothing about British Airways or Interwood but its the league that Bedfont Sports and Mole Valley SCR got promoted from in recent years (if my memory is as gd as i think) so will be decent sides.

What about the floodlight situation with Farleigh Rovers, Sheerwater etc?

So that could potentially be eight or so sides in danger of removal from CCL1?

Wow, and I thought that the Wessex 1st Division looked thin on the ground this season (only 16 clubs!)

Think it's 6 teams in Div 1 currently without lights. Not sure they'll be 6 teams with the correct grading applying to come up. It's all a bit of an unknown at the moment, assume we'll know more after 31st March.

Will Div 1 definitely have 3 promotion places (if the 3 teams meet the ground criteria of course)?

***************BORING, LONG POST ALERT***********************

Still three up Chubby. At least for this season.

I hope CB's announcement has done enough to keep them in the league but, as per usual, there are so many possible factors like how many go up from the Premier Division (maximum of two), if we get any down from step 4 and if any of the Division One clubs can't come up due to grading. There's also the possibility of clubs switching leagues. Dorking Wanderers wanted to last season - do they still want to come across in which case they'll be put straight into the Premier Division? And Rayners Lane have shown an interest in the past. They're currently top of their Division so they could also come straight into the Premier Division or Division One if they fail the grading. We could have three going down to Division One but only one or two coming up which would put CB on very shaky ground. If their new ground is deemed suitable enough to satisfy the rule then the next team in trouble is Sheerwater. But they've also got a development in planning. If that's acceptable then Farleigh may be staring down the barrel. Of course if overall two teams leave the league and none come in then everyone's fine for another season.

Clubs switching leagues at the same level have until March 31st to apply, clubs coming up from step 7 had to apply by December 31st so the CCL should know who's applied to come up at least (note if Lazarus is reading - a few other step 5 / 6 leagues have publicly announced who's applied to join them....).

The important rule for Division one clubs is:-

"All clubs in division one are to reach FA Ground Grading Criteria Category G by the 31st March 2013. Any club not meeting the criteria by the deadline will be considered for relegation at the end of that season subject to the regulations of the National League System.

The procedure to be followed shall be :-

All clubs which fail to meet the criteria shall be removed from the competition unless in doing so the number of clubs in the competition shall fall below 20. In this case clubs shall be removed based upon the following criteria:-

The lowest positioned club not meeting the criteria shall be removed, followed by the second lowest club until such time as all clubs failing to meet the criteria have been removed or the number of clubs is 20.

A club failing to meet the criteria shall only be considered to be exempt from this process if:

The club has actively taken appropriate steps to improve its facilities to meet the criteria to the satisfaction of the board, and can provide written third party evidence that it will be able to meet the criteria, such as planning permission, or documented support from the local authority and that it has adequate funding to meet the criteria in a timescale approved by the board."

The promotion applicants from step 7 have been announced.

In our area - Old Farnboronians have applied from the Surrey Elite.

From the Middlesex League FC Romania and Broadfields United have applied. Broadfields play at Hillingdon Borough FC so may have applied to the Spartan South Midlands or the CCL. FC Romania play at Cheshunt FC so have probably gone for the SSML.

There's one other slightly possible for the CCL - Mortimer from the Reading League but they may have applied for the Hellenic.

Full list of applicants - http://www.barisncel...tep6applicants/

Clubs only have to finish in the top five to get promoted assuming they meet the ground gradings.

Surprised that Yateley Green haven't applied

There's no point until they get floodlights. I suspect that might be a battle and a half for them. You know what NIMBYs are like. Gone are the days when the CCL could let in teams without the grading.
