Bear in mind that to make a bet, whether at a bookies or personally, you have to show up and put your money where your mouth is. That seems like an alien concept to the individual concerned!

I thought I had finished conversing with you-but you dont seem to understand. should you win the bookie pays for it.

Finished?! We've only just started. Perhaps your memory is going but I'm just waiting for you to follow through with the terms of the bet that you proposed....

 

Not reluctant, but you're a comedian I guess, £10 more like make it £100! That's how confident I am.To wait till next year for £10 is childs play-it has to be worthwhile.So tuesday at the game have your wad with you and we can give it to an independant to hold.

 

So, show up with your wad (as you quaintly put it) like I did on Tuesday and the bet is on. Marcus is just one of many who have told me they'd be happy to act as the independent witness.

Ok, so you want a bet of £100 that Slough Town score 7 goals or more is that correct ?Anything less I win ?

Martin is a qualified lawyer so will be able to give the finer details of a contract in law but most people know that there has to be an 'offer' and there has to be 'acceptance'. We'll ignore the bit about consideration for now. Imposing terms and presuming them to be binding doesn't constitute an agreement!

Me thinks he wont take the bet-otherwise I WOULD HAVE HAD A RESPONSE BY NOW OF ACCEPTANCE !

IF Bernie Gogan was your favourite player then you are probably older than me and should know better.Maybe your mouth would like to take on the wager seen as the others have pulled out-they are quite right to do so cos no way will this Slough team get 7 goals.
