fatboyatmfc
. Ashford led 2-0 at the break after a scrappy first half with goals from Sam Molenaux and Joel Large. In a more fluid second half it was Eva Batousal who added a third for the Tangerines after breaking away from the center backs, lobbing the oncoming keeper and then finishing with a crisp shot. Hampton responded within minutes when a clearance found a Hampton player and his looping header gave keeper George Armstrong no chance. When the blues got their second, a solid header from a corner, you wondered if Ashford would be able to raise their game to see out the match. However, the final twenty minutes became the Joe Lynch show, with most of the play from Hampton seeming to be down the left flank, Joe was involved in everything both defending and on the attack. At one point he won the ball on the half way line with a crunching tackle and then proceeded on a diagonal run into the Hampton area beating several players on route but only to see his shot tipped around the post. He got his reward a few minutes from full time though with a neat swivel on the edge of the box and a firm shot into the corner of the net to make the final score 4-2 to the tangerines. Good performances all round and a decent result in their first game of the year. Well done everyone!
