I haven't posted on the 'Not the ETFC' forum for a few months, but I closely follow the comments and feelings expressed by loyal Towners.

After the euphoria of last season, when we won the play-off final and clinched promotion to the RPL, nobody seriously expected us to be championship contenders, and the most realistic expectation and hope was for us to consolidate in a mid-table position. A few short weeks ago that appeared highly likely, but the recent string of disappointing results has not helped the cause, and left us with quite a bit to do in the second half of the season.

There is still a long way to go and anything can happen. I can fully understand the concerns and worries being expressed on this forum, but it is at times like this that we all need to pull together, and give Steve Newing, his management team and players, maximum encouragement and support. The RPL is a tough, highly competitive competition, and they deserve our total backing in their efforts to keep us in the premier division.

On a positive note, I am a little surprised that there have been no postings in response to this excellent article produced by Brighton Rebel a loyal Slough Town supporter. After our 6-0 thumping at Whitehawk, how reassuring to read this well balanced article about the two clubs. It summarises things quite nicely, and helps remind us of what we as a club have achieved over the past ten years or so. Well done and thanks Brighton Rebel.

Let's keep optimistic and hope for a change of luck and fortune, starting this weekend.
