Raynes Park Vale: Cable from floodlights stolen

Dobo Snr

This is getting ridiculous now, not much good news for our CCL clubs this week. A somewhat depressing start to 2013 for some clubs!

Hope you get it sorted Dobo, will this be covered by an insurance policy perhaps? Other clubs should also be made aware as this could end up being a common theme unfortunately!

Chubby, I am in agreement with you.

No doubt that this will affect the insurance premium at Raynes Park Vale, which could well stretch them financially.

Whoever is responsible deserves a severe punishment... but knowing our legal system...

I'll have a word with UKFF and see if one of the Roehampton University Fields can be used, just in case. They're getting portable flood-lights in as well.

It is getting worse by the day.

When I said I wanted to install razor wire and an onsite dog, I was told by the police I would be liable for any injuries received by any scallywags.

YOU JUST CAN'T WIN !

It isn't just the scum that nick it who are at fault but the scrap dealers that buy it off of them as well, warn your local scrappies what's happened and if enough stop buying the stuff there won't be the market for stealing it.

Several years ago we had two complete light units nicked from a tower and more recently all the lead earthing strips from 2 of our mobile telephone compounds and the misconception is that it's always Pikeys which is far from the truth.

I agree, Windsor Sec.

There's been a few small clubs near me who've had cables, lead and copper piping stolen.

Also, trains were held up at Gloucester last week because some a-hole took copper wiring from beside the railway line.

Most scrap dealers are vigilant, and will report suspicious activity to the police, but sadly you have the less than honest dealers.

Perhaps it's time for scrap metal dealers to be licensed? If the thieving scumbags couldn't sell the stuf then they would not steal it in the first place. It is becoming a major problem across the UK.

There is a change in the law coming re stuff like that and it may already be in. Hopefully this will restrict this sort of activity eventually.

Sorry to hear that Dobbo.

Last night thieves broke into the ground and nicked all the cable from every floodlight in the ground

Tomorrow res game ko 2pm

Small non-league football clubs seem easy targets these days i think London Tigers FC got burgled 3 times last season.
