Has been reported in the Croydon Guardian,that the Clubhouse at Croydon Athletics old ground was 100% damaged by Arsonists last night.This will be devasting news for all concerned with AFC Croydon Athletics dream of returning to their roots.I believe that only recently had the Lease been surrended back to Croydon Council by Jenni Manji wife of Mazeer Majeed.The Clubhouse had been the victim of much vandalism during the last year,but now it is just a shell.Such a shame for all concerned,have many fond Memories of my days there.What the future holds is anyones guess,especially in hard economic times.

So much love on this forum,I think you all deserve each other,Eversleys penalty area gets abused by a few Farnham Players,the pikeys nick a bit of Copper from RPV.ASH lose a bit of portable petrol machinery,Colliers Wood have pitch problems.You post in your droves.However when a Club who is truly owned by its Fans,has its CLUBHOUSE BURNT TO THE GROUND,not a murmur.No wonder Chris Wye gave up on the Charity games,the majority of posters on here only care about yourselves.Carthorse today epitomises this Forum,Horleys were all crackers,Badshots were all defensive mistakes.When Horley lose he is as quiet as a Mouse,does not post.Met acting CCL Chairman Chris Conlon today and his lovely Wife,Hope Fizzers/Neils lot won for him today against Rugby Town,nice to learn that he was the Secretary their for many years.Wish him well in his new position,an Honest Football man.

Assuming that the new AFCCA were intending to return to the KTS, then this IS sad news Smudge.

I don't understand your post as it drifted off in all directions.

I think anyone with an ounce of integrity would not have wished this to happen to the KTS.

While the loss of the old clubhouse is a blow to us getting back to the KT, our spiritual home it's not had an effect. We don't play there and no-one has for over a year. The clubhouse had been trashed while unused, so work and money was going to be needed to put it back in a habitable condition. I also feel that to compare this to the problems experienced by Eversley, Colliers Wood, Raynes Park and Ash is slightly wrong. The problems those clubs have experienced effect them now and they have my sympathy. The problems at the KT, while affecting those of us who have been connected to the place are difficult it does not affect AFC Croydon Athletic. We can still play and complete our 1st season in CCL. So it's still onwards an, hopefully, upwards for The Rams

The topic was hidden from view to members as the opening poster is on Mod Preview by the look of things. i.e. each time he posts a Moderator has to approve his posting before the rest f his can see it.

I find it odd that the Moderator/s have seen fit to censor/edit delete Peters posts at will.

 

He might ruffle feathers from time to time, but at least he speaks it like it is.

I couldn't see the topic either HKP.

 

Question for the moderators - are Smudge's posts filtered by yourselves before they can be viewed by the rest of us? If so,what is the delay period?

 

Also if so, why are his posts moderated first? I, personally, would find that very harsh if they are moderated.

If the lease has been returned to its owners (Croydon Council I assume) then surely the clubhouse would be insured, and if the council want to keep it as a community stadium then they would be eligible for various grants to rebuild and refurbish Hopefully thing may not be so bleak for Croydon after all.

Totally agree - there is nothing that Smudge has ever posted on here that to my mind requires a power-hungry moderator to moderate. Yes his views are sometimes controversial, yes he upsets a few posters with those views. I call for him to taken off moderator review - it isn't necessary. Sack Bomaya ;)

Because I have strong connections to DFC in an official capacity, I often have to 'bite-my-tongue' !

 

However, if I was a totally free agent, there would be many occasions when I would voice my honest opinions on here. Without being abusive, I hasten to add !

Correction. He speaks it like he sees it without engaging his brain so comes out with emotional shit-stirring rubbish most of the time.

 

See his contributions to this thread if in any doubt.

 

(Shouldn't be on moderation though, unless I've missed something elsewhere.)
