OldTowner
Agree totally with Cold End. The quote by Steve in August 2012 has proven correct. He is working on a small budget or better still a smaller budget than the mojority of RP Clubs. He has given the current 'promotion' players the opportunity to succeed and they have done their best. Steve and the board are now acting and very timely too. Remember the target this year was consolidation. As a club we are still discovering our new overheads at the stadium and to go gunho with mega signings is something that is irresponsible and not acceptable by the supporters who have spilt blood to have us housed in our own home in our borough once again. Steve's doing a great job and his signings will improve the starting X1. The board know what they are doing and are acting accordingly, everyone needs to remember in the long run our aim will be promotion, but we need to walk into that position not like Whitehawk who are sprinting their with unfounded income which will all go belly up one day as did Truro City and Greta in Scotland plus many other club's to mention. I for one am relaxed that our club is moving along well, we are progressive and all within budget. Come on Towners, we are expecting some points over the next 3-4 games. EU. Following the game today ( ETU Away ) are you sticking with the view that all is "Okay and Rosie" and that we are progressing ? From where I watched the game, it is not and we are not. Enfield United
EU. Following the game today ( ETU Away ) are you sticking with the view that all is "Okay and Rosie" and that we are progressing ? From where I watched the game, it is not and we are not. OT-I know where your coming from, but your having kittens after 19 games and we are not in the bottom two. Where did I say things are 'ok and rosie?', I did say progressive, which reflects to moving into our stadium blah blah blah and everything else we've had in the past 16-18 months at the QE. A reasonable target for survival is 40-42 points, which means we need approx a point a game. A victory changes everything, it changes the players mood, the Supporters mood, the board members mood and even (and i'm pushing the boat out here) Southport Towners mood. I tell you how i'm approaching Tuesdays game at Carshalton. It is one of excitement, and anticipation. We go to that game wanting and needing the 3 points, it must be a targeted game for 3 points and like you i'll be positive and encouraging the team all the way. I believe the sticking point for the club will be when we cross needing 1.5 points a game to survive as then winning one losing one will not be enough and thats when I believe drastic measures should be made if we want to preserve Ryman Prem Status. I still believe we will survive. That's me being honest and not stubborn.

What has happened over the last 10 years or 10 months or 10 days does not matter - we are in a "results business". Let's hope your views are right and we can pull some points out of the bag, starting Tuesday.
andyetfc
EU, I went to watch the game yesterday with excitement and anticipation and we wanted and needed the 3 points. However, it just did not happen. Yes, I want to see the team winning and doing well. However, although we hit the woodwork twice, we didn't do much else apart from hoof the ball around the field. This is not just a personal view as lots of supporters feel the same way about how the team is playing at the moment.
