Windsor Rebel
Happy Xmas and New Year to all involved with the club. A few of us are meeting at the following pub prior to the game against Guildford: The Royal Oak 15, Trinity Churchyard. Guildford GU1 3RR. Its about half a mile walk from Guildford Main and London Road Guildford, although be warned the ground is approx. 2 miles from the town centre, so it could be a taxi job. Lets hope the game is on. Jakesfanclub
It's only about 5 minutes walk to the bus station where there is a 15 minute service direct to the Spectrum. Service No 100 about £1.50 return. Alternative pubs, all of which serve real ale and food and all of which are within a 10 minute walk of the ground are:- The Rowbarge, 7 Riverside, GU1 1LW; The King's Head, Stoke Road, GU1 4JW; The Stoke, Stoke Road, GU1 4JN. The last two of these are directly opposite each other. The City Club in Joseph's Road, GU1 1DN is the old Guildford City Football Club Supporters Club building. Unfortunately it won't be doing food tomorrow. At the ground we will have Hogs Back T.E.A. on sale although we won't have any draught lager - awaiting the cooling system being fixed. ON NO ACCOUNT USE THE SPECTRUM ITSELF - IT IS DIRE.
Regan
Echo what Jakesfanclub says above. Avoid using the spectrum leisure centre bar at all costs, unless you enjoy drinking terrible beer while surrounded by screaming children. The Royal Oak is probably the pub I go to most in Guildford. It's a nice place with a decent atmosphere but it isn't cheap! There is a Wetherspoons in town, near the railway and bus stations. (The #100 shuttle bus will take you from the town centre to Spectrum for a couple of quid) The City Club is probably the best value of all the nearby options, certainly the cheapest pint of TEA I've had in Guildford recently! Other than that, enjoy the hospitality of our ground. It's nothing special but we try to make the best of what we have. Mind you the weather forecast doesn't look to promising!
