Oops, sorry I stand corrected.

As for us today,no we couldn't capitalise. We couldn't cope with the conditions whereas Cray worked well, passed well and deserved the win.Apart from a few efforts on goal Cray dominated.Well,possession-wise anyway.

Cant see Saturdays game going ahead, even at this early stage

Put it another way - we were hopeless ! Let's play into that great big wet patch in front of the dugouts shall we - no one knows it is there do they ? Oh and let's kick it out from our end high into the wind so it comes straight back - what's that supporters ? Play it out on the ground on the right hand side which is still passable ? Surely not - why would we want to do that ?

Take the conditions away and that would have been a completely different game. They got a bit lucky with their goal, with Holloway wrong-footed for what seemed like a tame shot and that was about it other than the stonewall penalty they had turned down.

We had several similar efforts but none really threatened. Given the way the ball was sticking in the second half, Saturday must be extremely doubtful.

I think these are full times. Wealdstobne drew and Kingstonian lost heavily. Together with Whitehawks draw looks like we didnt fare too badly league table-wise despite our defeat. Shame we couldn't put a bigger gap between us and the rest.

Dear Dflman, listening to your quotes on todays game and previous games, you have obviously never played the game of football. If you choose to do nothing other than criticise our team, why dont you stay in doors and watch the bakeoff, which you obviously prefer. Your support would not be missed. Top of the league, Happy New Year. Some people are never please. COYB

I reserve the right to my opinions - I have been going to football at absolute top flight all over the world and lower league for a long, long time - I also played it at junior level until leaving school. I was in the Kent Schools select team in the early 60's so you are incorrect in your assumption. If you don't agree with me expressing my opinions then sobeit. I do not criticise the team only the way they play sometimes. Today was a poor performance however it is dressed up and I got wet, very wet. There were at least twenty people behind me expressing the same opinion by the way

We've got to be realistic: all teams - even those who win the league - lose games. Granted, it was a poor performance, but that will happen. We didn't adapt to the conditions. But true champions don't overreact to defeats; they dust themselves down, and ensure they win the next game. Presuming Saturday is off (looking likely at the mo), by the time we next play, our rivals could have played two of their games in hand over us (Saturday and New Year's Day), giving the top of the table a truer feel. But we must remember: this is non-league football, and we are top of the table. We shouldn't complain too much.

Don't be too harsh on DFL Man, he's not far wrong. Cray's keeper played most of his goal kicks to his centre halves who were quite happy to play it along their back 4 until an opportunity arose to pass it forward, We didn't press their back 4 enough to make the keeper try and kick it long. Whereas in the second half we didn't try it once. These lads are halfway up the non-league pyramid and are on pretty decent money. Therefore I expect 2 things a) to be able to kick it with their 'wrong' foot with some accuracy when required and B) when it's blowing a gale, keep the ball on the bloody deck. Yesterday, they just didn't do it, in the most dreadful conditions, when surely ;common sense' would tell you not to hoof it in the air. Cray could have been easily 2 up at half time against the wind, so why didn't we try to keep the ball down? also, if someone making a post states the obvious and I've no idea who DFL Man is, why on earth should he be told to take his support elsewhere? I'm pretty sure, like me, he's desperate for the boys to do well.
