A Rebel and a Saint
Great ideas but unfortunately we all know the people who run football are only really interested in the Premier League and very little else so I wouldn't hold your breath on them doing anything useful. Especially like the 3G pitch idea, would have saved a few games in the long run but again, that requires investment which just won't be forthcoming to small leagues and clubs. One interesting idea that was put to me on this sort of thing is that there may just be too many non league clubs for semi-pro football to be sustainable, and not enough interested fans divided between to many clubs. I'm not saying we need to go around closing down local clubs, but it should be an incentive to implement ideas like yours in order to help the problem. brighton_rebel
Seems to be no complaints at Maidstone about their artifical pitch. ARAAS some clubs survive on small crowds, but often they have loads of youth teams etc so for them to fold might have a much bigger impact than just the first team going out of existance. Mind you why their are 2 (3!) Bedfont clubs right next to each other has always puzzled me.
A Rebel and a Saint
Like I said BR, I'm not suggesting we go out and close down a load of clubs and I appreciate it's never as simple as a club just having low attendances, it's just an interesting point to go with your idea of getting more fans into grounds. If a club can get by with small crowds without going out of business then fair play to them, if more clubs lived within their means things would be a lot better off.
