Possible help needed

Just been down to have a little look through the gates, its hard to define how bad or good the pitch is from there but there were no obvious puddles from what I could see,I guess it depends on how wet it is,how it drains and if we get much more rain.

Saying all that,I couldn't see the goal mouths which usually are the first to puddle up.

It could of course be full of puddles that aren't visible from 150 yards away at pretty much ground level but its obviously saturated and depends I would guess on if the ball rolls etc

It's evident as soon as you go out of Upminster into the lanes just how much water has fallen in the last few days, the st Mary's lane end of Upminster by Cranham golf course is nearly impassable now and water continues to run off the fields adding to it,it is also bad by the thatched house and around gerpins lane,am working all day today so should be fun

Well so far so good with regards to rain,a couple of light showers since around 1pm but nothing much and there's a bit of wind.

I guess it's how well the pitch drains if at all with all the water already on it.

It definately looks more promising than 6 hours ago but still firmly in the balance.

There is o ran forecast till tomorrow afternoon around 3pm and there is a stiff breeze which may help

The club are obviously desperate to get this game n,it should be a decent crowd, probably double what we would get for a re arranged Tuesday night fixture.

I would check on here first thing in case any help is needed.

The fact we have had no rain for hours and the weather is "supposedly" dry till kick off, would suggest there's a half decent chance of it being on,I don't think anyone has been to the ground today,I did have a little look through the gates, but in all honesty you can only see half the pitch but it didn't look like there was any puddles.

I went to the grassy area next door to my mum and dads at the windmill and was surprised that I didn't squelch while walking on it,but again, its not a football pitch so it probably soaks up better than ours, being next to a flooded river doesn't help, although I understand the section of river behind the ground has steep banks and hasn't flooded so far and shouldn't now.

My gut feeling at the moment is that with a bit of work,a referee that's maybe a tad lenient as to giving us some time etc that the game could go ahead, definately more encouraging than at 2pm today.

Certainly the last 12 hours have been dry and as no pitch inspection announced (many other teams announced theirs) , It must have a chance of being on.

We all need a football fix. Should be a decent gate, would be shocked if Welling dont have well over 100 there possibly 200.

Cheers BB,would of thought both games have a decent chance of being on,had the rain lasted another hour or so I would of said no chance but 24 hours without rain may just be enough.

Good luck tomorrow, hope to see you Saturday.
