From elsewhere a comment on the Dorking v Hanworth Villa game:

After an even opening, the vistors took the lead following a defensive mix-up, and quickly made it 2-0 with a freekick. An attempt to curl it round the wall ended up with it taking a deflection leaving the keeper well beaten. Hanworth then dominated the rest of the game, but struggled to stay onside - a lot of it due to the midfield holding onto the ball for too long. The home #s 5 & 6 also played well. Twenty minutes from time, with all Dorking subs on their keeper got a straight red for a foul. Penalty converted. Dorking finally troubled the Villa keeper in injury time, forcing a save and then converting a penalty for handball with the final kick of the game. Often an entertaining game, but should have been a more comfortable win.

Maybe I AM WRONG,but according to the Surrey F.A website,ROLL ON ROLL OFF SUBS,are allowed in all CUP Competitions.

Hi Smudge,

Saturday's team was:

Shelley, Stamp, Jeffery, Blockham, Millington-Lee, Cann, Thorne, M Williams, Fox, Baker, N Williams

Team last night was:

Jennings, Lloyd, Jeffery, Hawkins, Hutchings, Wetherall, Clark, Moran, Hogsden, Baker, Harkness

Players missing on Saturday were Harkness, Hamilton, Coussens, Wetherall, Macdonald and Day

Hope that helps clarify Sav's statement and my post above

You are wrong Smudge. It doesn't apply to the Senior Cup for certain.

We were a little low key last night. Conceded an early goal and 2-0 down by ht.

Pulled one back after 50 but within a minute an error in communication at the other end and it was 3-1 and a fourth followed later on.

Leatherhead were the better side and looked very good in patches, but very sloppy in others and we nearly scored a couple of goals that would have been better defended in Sunday league. Two good saves required in the end and probably 3-2 might have been a fairer score line.

Whilst there was plenty of committment, I got the impression that both sides were more interested in their upcoming league games. Our Captain sat on the bench for the whole match, and whilst with no Reserves we have to adopt a rotation policy, I'd be very surprised if he were on the bench for Saturday's League game with Wembley, which gives you an idea of prioities.

I'll be honest I have no problem with this. Our recent League form is excellent while the Surrey Cup is seldom inspiring, and all it did was cost us money in producing lots of programmes according to their average crowds of over 200, so we based the order on a crowd of 130 thinking we might sell out, but just 101 turned up. Clearly the Leatherhead fans aren't that interested in the competition either!

Oh lovely, actually we are not part of the UK...

Does their tweet actually make sense?

"RyeUnited 's victory tonight sets up a Vase tie between an isolated island 30 yrs behind the rest of the UK and @Guernseyfc ;-)"

So are they the ones 30 years behind the rest of the UK?
