AFC Hornchurch 3 - 0 Basingstoke Town

To quote from my report - (just to prove that someone notices what Joe does) - and it has nothing to do with the fact that the goalkeeping coach was sitting right in front of me - I was considering making Joe the player of the match in the NLP report, but eventually decided on Tommo.

Woolley made a good save from a Simon Dunn free kick, turning the ball around the post for a corner.

Hornchurch nearly took the lead when a Michael Spencer cross cannoned off a defender, and almost into the net.

But it was Basingstoke who forced the pace, and Woolley made another good save, this time from Shaun McAuley, and then fielded two corners in succession, as the home defence stood firm against some heavy pressure.

And it was Woolley once again, and once again from McAuley, before Tambeson Eyong, right on half time, had his shot blocked in what was Hornchurch’s first on-target shot of the match.
