Slough v North Greenford United

I was in talks with the ref and he was changing his mind which part of the pitch needed to be done to get the game on. also once decided we concentrated on them areas. But there was people going off and doing other things. On top of that the ref wanted things like team sheets ect in on time.

We had forks ect there but with that downpour we could of had 50 of them and it would have still been called of because it went boggy.

One thing we did learn from this is when we do fork it not to put the fork in and then lean on it so it makes a cavity under the top as it just goes boggy, just fork it so by it goes straight in then pulled straight out again.

Just been looking at this season compared to last season, and we have played 14 league games this year against 21 last year to the same date.

That is 1/3 of a seasons games against 1/2 played last season.

We are also still in the league cup and if we go all the way that could be 4 more games to fit in.

So there is a potential 32 games still to go.

Looking at the weather forecast for the next few days the Northwood game could be at risk - yet 1 more game to fit in.

This raises two thoughts, will Holloways park hold up to this many games (at least we have played a good number of home games already), and with the number of games to play will we end up with the risk of having to play 3 games a week at some point - is there enough depth in the squad to cover injuries, suspensions and tiredness?

This is not a dig at anyone, but just the outcome of having a great FA cup run which had a number of replays.

Squad depth is more than sufficient IMO but the same old problem of the fringe players getting enough game time to be match fit when they get the chance to step in.

Speaking as an oldie (still breathing type). In the old days it was recognised that football was essentially a winter game and you always expected to have a few fixtures postponed because of the "COLD" weather. Nowadays, we still have that problem PLUS fixtures now being lost because of this bloody incessant RAIN.

Heavy rain again today and more forecast for the rest of the week.

Any of you political types who would like to be out of Europe may soon get their wish as we will just FLOAT away.
