Chris Clapham
So, following the draw, will Guernsey's odds shorten or lengthen? Financially a great couple of weeks for Sparks if.............. http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/non-league/fa-vase/fa-vase/winner
E&E Rich
Yes, but you were lucky to get past Consett in the previous round Bom as I think you were 2-4 down in extra time. Swings and roundabouts! The Combined Counties Leaguewas originally called the Surrey Senior League, and Epsom & Ewell reached Wembley in 1975, losing to Hoddesdon Town. As for Guernsey's chances in the Vase, the fixture backlog will come back to haunt them unless they can add to their squad. There may even come a time when they have to prioritise, League or Vase. Now that's a tough decision! South Park away (assuming thhey get past Rye) would be a very interesting tie though, as the Park are picking up a reputation as cup specialists and having played Leatherhead, Kingstonian, Met Police twice and also Whitley Bay in the last 12 months, they will not be concerned about facing Guernsey. Swings and roundabouts! Yeah but I wasn't going to mention that. We won with three late goals. Consett fans weren't happy and they were praying for us to meet Whitley Bay in the next round. I didn't realise you lot were in the Surrey Senior League then. I assumed you were Athenian or Isthmian at that time. That's why I didn't mention it earlier. GuernseyGeordie
Whitley Bay are the side to fear - they are cup specialists and turn it on in the Vase every year Bye bye Bay ! I can't quite believe they are out Spen. I used to live in Shildon so would love to draw them IF we can get through another tough away draw. What's your view of it ?
