Jeff Trice
...just updated the history site with a vastly improved profile for 1950's player Leslie Smith who's still a regular at Margate games today - seen him around Hartsdown Park for years without realising who he was. He has a photo for the first time and a whole extra page of pics relating to his career. Also uploaded a nice photo of an award made to long-serving club secretary Alan Kay and revamped Vic Pilcher's profile with new info too. dflman
Any chance of a photo of him as he is now - I stood near an elderly man yesterday who spoke with complete tactical sense and gave the full analysis of how it had happened each time a move broke down and he clearly knew what he was talking about. It was a pleasure to listen to him
Jeff Trice
Don't have one unfortunately but I'm told he was standing somewhere near the PA box if that helps ?
margate lad
I believe that he has a relation that plays for the reserves at the moment, an Aston smith who i believe is Lester Smith's Grandson
BlueGate Alan
Different people I believe Margate lad, Lester, Im sure wasnt born in 1935!! You are right though in saying Aston is Lester's grandson.
BlueGate Alan
Upon checking Jeffs brilliant site, Leslie is in fact Lesters Brother, both, of course played for us.
