Bad Language from the Dug-outs

Rother

Recommended Posts

Been sent from the dug out twice in the last two weeks for swearing, terrible really but I can't help myself throwing in a little for f sake etc, it wasn't aimed at anyone.

Ellers, are you being completely honest as I've never seen anyone sent out of a dugout for a little 'for f sake' and for it to happen twice in two weeks suggests you may have added a few other words to the sentence each time. LOL.

Best way to deal with players abuse/swearing whatever at officials is the rugby method that was briefly introduced into football but has since disappeared. Usually swearing is directed after an offence given away. So each time the player remonstrates at the official the free kick is moved 10 yards closer to goal, until it becomes a penalty.

That would soon stop the abuse even at top level.

Players would soon get round that one, only abuse the Ref. in the oppos half. ;)

What is the likely penalty to be, assuming you are charged by the County FA?

the sack only for them to be resigned by the same club later on re the referee assault guildford city whats the point in that!! fines are whats needed an i do think dbm has a point itll make clubs think more about there conduct on the pitch!!

The player pays the fine and cant play again til the fine is paid

A sin bin for 10 minutes would be a fantastic idea for football, there are so many poor referees out there that can ruin a game just on what mood they turn up in. A sin bin would keep the game interesting and psychologically in them 10 mins a team could really get a advantage

where would the sin bin placed in relation to the pitch ?

Would it be part of the Ground Grading Requirement ?

How many will it be able to hold because lets face it with all the stupid footballers out there the number in the sin bin will grow each time the rubbish referee gives a decision. ?

Indeed, and words do not have to be swear words to be red card offences.

It is often not just what is said, it is how is said and how loud it is.

Going back to the original thread the officials (mainly referee and bench side assistant) have a duty to ensure that language from the technical area is not just one shouted swear word after another. We should understand what is frustration but deal with the bad language if it is overly used.

In my opinion, the clubs themselves have a duty to deal with it if it is their officials that cause a problem week after week

Did I read that this was the case when Walton & Hersham sacked their manager because of the managers foul language giving their club a bad reputation ?

Perhaps its goes a bit deeper than we think.

Right or wrongly, bad language/swearing seems more acceptable nowadays being part and parcel of the commom language - check the Oxford Dictionary. Was there a saying that it's a fine/accepted word if its in the Oxford Dictionary....think about it !!!!

Some of the Sunday press seem to now be implying that Clattenburg might have a problem.

Or is it just a case of foreign players deciding to pick on one referee ??
