The usual suspects are all at the top again - Egham, Badshot Lea and Guernsey have generous CCL budget so no surprise there of their budgets

 

Going to bite here. Reminder that Gsy's budget us not used for players at all so it can't be used as a reason for them having a good team

 

Back on topic. Cove in Prem and Frimley Green in Div one the biggest surprises for me, and Bedfont Sports after a bad start

Forget the paying rubbish you have a whole island to pick from and i don't think your going to get any 7 dayers plus there's mainland players who you can pick

Good point about the 7 day approaches... Never really considered that one, but even if the player doesn't go it could unsettle him and indeed the club.

who would actually go though? as nice as it is to be challenging they ......ahem dont pay big ask for any mainland player to travel there or uproot an move there!!!

Don't think that was the point newby, I think it was mainland clubs wouldn't make 7 dayers for Guernsey players. And I think bobuk meant Guernsey can choose from Guernsey's mainland residents for away games.

Still works both ways though itd unsettle any player if a 7 dayer was realeased if guernsey put one in for me id pee myself who wouldnt want to play for them!?

Mr Vance is not able to go and target players from 20 clubs of a similar standard within a 20 mile radius either though. The players he has at his disposal are the best the island has to offer and when injuries/suspensions/unavailability hit, it's not a case he can go out and get like for like. This makes their achievements all the more creditworthy.

 

There is a talented pool in Guernsey's top 30 players but apart from the 15-20 who play regularly, players need to get accustomed to the English game/style as well as GFC's way of playing if they've not been involved, so if they're not as talented/developed as the players they replace, it's no easy job.

 

I think their results hide just how good a job everyone at GFC does - and will need to keep doing if further progression is available.

WHETHER THE SAME STANDARD OR NOT HE STILL HAS WAY MORE TO CHOOSE FROM THAN ANY MAINLAND CLUB!! AS YOU SAY A WHOLE ISLAND ID RATHER THAT THAN HAVING TO FIGHT TO GAIN THE SIGNATURE OF PLAYERS HERE FROM OTHER CLUBS LITERALLY 15 MINUTES AWAY
