Sat 1st Dec Scores and Results

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the early postponement of the Warlingham game this weekend.

Seeing as everybody and their dog knew it was warming up later in the day, who in their right mind would call a game off for a frozen pitch with at least four hours until kick off?

Was it a local ref? If so they should be named on here. Terrible decision seeing as every other game was played.

Or was it a decision by the club? Obviously not Warlingham or Epsom Athletic, as I'm sure they didn't get a say.

Can an official maybe explain the "Saturday morning" procedure here as I'm intrigued. Warlingham may have incurred costs for sandwiches, programmes etc. and these stupid decisions cost clubs money they cannot afford.

Ha ha yeah right ! Well JJ they MUST have been poor you scored 2 goals ;) !!!

At least JJ you're not under too much relegation pressure thanks to Woodford .....phew :P !

Oh dear!! What a PEN!S. I didnt score any goals on Saturday. Must do your research better before spouting crap!

No relegation pressure at all BAD GAY. Taking one game at a time and having massive self belief that we are in a false position in the league. You only have to look at some of our results against some of the big hitters in our league, Royston L 2-1, Rugby D2-2, Godalming D1-1. We've been on the end of a few hammerings too :-)

I have to agree that it was a superb 2nd goal from Windsor. Not seen the replay but did not look like a red card, thought there was a covering defender. Referee was a bit quick on bringing out the red, should have walked to the player and given him a few seconds thinking time. Having said that the player did not seem too upset or angry when he came off and even played up to the crowd.

Great comeback from GFC though.

After seeing the replay I think the referee got it right, at the time of the foul the "covering" defender was behind Allen, so under the letter of the Law the referee was right. General feeling in the ground was that it was harsh.

Gutted our game was called off as we are on a good run all I know is the game was called off early by who I don't know. Presume this match will now be a midweek game at some point next year now at least Epsom don't have to travel to far for this.

Richard, have you never been to Whyteleafe? The ground sits in a Valley, surrounded by Large Tall trees on one side, and a large Stand behind one goal.Fridays overnight frost was the heaviest so far this season, which followed on from a frost the previous night. The Sun does not reach certain areas of the pitch until midday at the earliest.Your post infers Whyteleafe are being protectionist,as with all inspections this would of been carried out by a Qualified Referee, would you of had this view,if he had passed it fit, then the game got called off.Did not see you post about the South Kilburn game that got called off 15mins before kick off time,by the late arriving Ref.Be consistent is my point.

You have been around long enough know mate to know that if a referee is called in he makes the decision based on what the pitch is like when he is there at that time. He has no right to call the game off.

GFC Highlights v Windsor including that amazing 2nd goal for Harris

I can't stop watching that Harris goal, foul or not. I confess to being one of the home fans you can hear clapping, and why not ? Ran himself into the ground did the young lad.

JMR - very good and fair match report.

GuernseyGeordie - all true with the bookies! None of us could believe they had Ben Harris at 13/2 for first goal and I think the bookie was a little shocked with all of the bets placed one after the other! Although he was in probably more shock when Ben rifled home in the first minute!

A great day out today thought the fifth goal deep in injury time gave the shoreline a bit of unfair reflection. 4-2 would have been about right.

Proud to be a Windsor fan today.

Delighted for you mate, bookies are no one's friends. Am trying to persuade the family that a trip to Windsor Castle around 1 April next year would be a good idea.......

GG, you will not be able to gain full access to the castle that day as 'HM' is in residence over Easter so many of the state rooms that are normally open will be closed then. Havng said that there's still enough to see to take you up to a 1pm kick off including the changing of the guard at about 11 am. If you have a young family Legoland is a 15 minute walk from the ground [there is a Lego shuttle bus service that stops outside the ground as well]. We've also chosen this fixture as our annual 'charity' day which means free entry for everyone but a donation in the collection buckets [whilst not compulsory] is requested. Final details have yet to be arranged but we try to make it a family day so if you bring the kids along there'll be stuff to keep them occupied as well !
