Sky have yet to state who will be playing in the friday evening cup game. A meeting is to be held tomorrow with police and other parties involved and then it will be announced, i wonder if it`s us. £50 000 for each team is not bad at all.

Read on ceefax that Accrington V Huddersfield game is the live one on BBC on Sunday.

 

Anyone remember what happened last time? Sure we tried to get the game played on Friday night but couldn't for some reason and Bodley's suspension kicked in the next day. Why was it a Sunday last time if Saturday was a problem?

I think there was some Christmas Carol concert going on near Roots Hall on the Friday night and the police didn't want there to be a huge amount of traffic clogging up the area. Something stupid like that!

saturday sees quite a few essex teams at home so they will be stretched on that day.. i still think midday sunday will be the preferred option as far as the police are concerned and tough luck on the telly front.. tho if they have the man power, friday night would be brilliant! and twice the atmosphere

Don't like this quiet since the unofficial site has gone. No speculation/ticket sale news, nothing.

 

Obviously just qualified and I'm probably impatient but the game is the end of next week and things seem quiet so I'm wondering if there is anything going on behind the scenes which needs a bit more sorting out than usual.

 

Just hope the rain holds off when we play as a deluge would be a leveller in favour of Southend.

btw - on Sunday we had over 500 people view the old unnoffial site for details I guess of the game at Mangotsfield.

Only thing I can think of is that the unofficial site was too informative.

 

Just reading the very detailed match reports gave quite an insight about the team. It was great for those who could not attend a game but may have aided opposing teams if read.

 

Also, there was a small amount of critisicm from time to time, which most readers may have agreed with, but the mood of the ten lines written on the official site is far away from this style. Very brief with nothing given away and no qualms with the very little detail.

YA you are only going to Spain, you could probably get a easyjet ticket for less than £100 and go on the Sunday. If City were playing a game like this and I was in Australia, I'd be flying back!
