Royston match

Slough Match Sec

Recommended Posts

It was nice to see Tim Turl there yesterday, for the not so older ones he played for us until 1980 excellent right back if memory is correct.

Just shows you that Slough is in the blood and does not go away when you leave, he had photo's from the them days.

His son Will used to play for us!

In regards to the "idiots", I am glad you know who they are. It's unfortunate that a very small minority can cause problems. I have to say though that everyone else was thoroughly decent, especially the lass on the burger bar who gave me free cheese as I smiled!

Our travellers tales from the match is now on www.roystontownfc.co.uk

Looking forward to seeing you at Garden Walk

As a Chelsea supporter I had no idea what a Chelsea smile was, I am glad to say ! And to be honest wish I had not found out.

All I can say Jez is yes they are a gobby lot but honestly no way would any of them say something like that and I am sure you will enjoy the banter on our visit to Garden Walk.

Getting back to the match, rather than creating a new post, thought I'd carry on here. Watching on Saturday and a few of the previous matches, does anyone else think we should try Sonner and Smith up front from the start and give Danny a rest. He's missed a few chances in recent matches and I feel with Sonners energy and fact you can't drop an in form Smith. Just a thought...

Definitely not!!

At present, Danny Burnell is our top scorer again this season and as far as I'm concerned Saturday was just one of those days when he got himself into the right positions but his scoring touch let him down. This happens to all goal-scorers at any level of the game.

IMO the Burnell/Smith partership will be our most successful since Hodges/Boot.

At the end of a season there are often turning points that define successful or unsuccessful seasons.

IMO the Ed Smith/Danny Burnell partnership and the signing of Jake Parsons will prove to be major turning points in an ultimately successful season.
