Royston match

Slough Match Sec

Must have their hands over their mouths then! To be fair I did see a couple of black & white scarved people but not the coachload I thought were travelling from Hertfordshire.

Thought they were decent, certainly one of the better teams we've encountered

Have to agree with PJR I thought Royston were a decent team with probably the best midfield I've seen this season. I thought our midfield, especially first half, were chasing shadows a lot of the time with Royston's slick passing and movement causing all sorts of problems and only had Warro to thank, with some excellent saves, especially in the first half.

The big difference on the day was that we took three of our chances that came our way and Royston didn't.

Royston were absolutely one of the best teams we've played if you discount their defence. In midfield they are very strong and well organised and that's generally enough to beat a lot of teams in our division. They created a lot of chances and we had Warro to thank in the first half for giving us the opportunity to go in ahead. At the back however they are poor and on a different day Smith and Burnell both could/should have been claiming some Spanish brandy.

A good result for us that keeps the pressure on the teams above.

Agree with the points on Royston being a good team going forwards. Some of their interplay was very good and our defence had to be alert to close it down and keep it out.

Includes all four goals and many other chances with just under seven minutes of footage from the game today. Enjoy.

This was only Royston's 2nd league defeat of the season, and they were defenitely a good team, playing some very good passing football. Credit to the players for their performance in deservedly beating them as they were most certainly not a poor team. Poor teams don't get to December with only 1 defeat.

We are well placed for a play off position, but with several other teams averaging over 2 points a game, winning it will be difficult, but far from impossible.

Their defence looked shaky everytime we attacked and one of their centre backs missed the ball more often than he made contact with it, and their full backs seemed unable to keep the ball on the pitch. They may be a world beaters week in week out but today they weren't. We could have had 6 or 7 if Db had his shooting boots on and they'd been a few more passes than shots. Yes they made a few decent chances but in my opinion they were nothing special. Love how football can bring so many opinions on the same thing.

Good performance all round, agree that Smith was very good up front but the whole team deserves credit for closing out the team who were sitting on top of the league. I was quite disappointed with Royston, they didn't look like a team at the top, especially in defence, but their passing was good compared with a lot of teams in this league. We did well all over the pitch to keep the ball and play it around ourselves, Swifty was getting stuck in well too.

Seems after todays results, anything can happen in this league, with Guildford and Daventry losing too and all the other teams above us winning, no team is making their mark on this league yet, so still plenty to play for.

Hopefully this league cup game will go ahead on Tuesday as we don't need more league games pushed into the new year with winter postponements inevitable.

You deserved your win without a shadow of a doubt. However would disagree with the comment about poor defence. If it had'nt have been for some great interceptions from Jack and Joe you would have won by several more. Now our midfield was crap!

Enjoyed the game, on the most you are a real decent bunch of fans except for one or three. The guy in the burbery hat smoking in the outside area by your bar. Don't appricate being told that "You are going home with a Chelsea smile" and with his couple of friends laughing next to him. If that is your support, then nice. However I met several decent chaps including the guys who have supported you for 34 years.Looking forward to welcoming you to Garden Walk. You really must sort out some of the scum that watch you though.

I've been watching Slough Town for 13 years now, and not once have I encountered a fan whom I would describe as "scum".

I do hope you thought about this before using such a strong term!

Was is said in an aggressive or threatening manner? If it was, then maybe you have a point.

But as I have said I've been supporting Slough for 13 years, and I'm sure none of our fans are like that (including the loudmouths!).

Nathan..... it should not have been said at all.... If I started chanting "you are going home with a Chelsea smile" in the bar at Garden Walk, would you smile and laugh about it?

Aggressive or threatening, it should not have been said. In a joking manner you think that's ok?...

Really do wish the best for your team for the season, but cannot believe you condone that statement.

I did not mean that it was okay, or tasteful or anything like that. I certainly do not condone it! But you're right, it didn't happen to me, so I don't know how I'd react to it. I'm just saying that going on an internet discussion board and labeling a section of our support as "scum" is going a step too far IMO, as it labels all of us.

I mentioned him plus the others that were laughing and yes they are scum. I also mentioned about all your support plus three... so no Nathan I did not class all your support as scum, just those that need to be dealt with. If you come to the return match I shall stand you a beer (just the one, as beer prices as soo expensive) and no chelsea smiles to be seen for miles. They are all Spurs and Arsenal fans round here!

Completely agree with the Royston fan... If that was said then I think his reaction is fair and there's no need for it... Would have been nice to have banter today the one bloke telling us we didn't have a ground gave us a giggle but it was quite tame. Sorry if you didn't have a great time Royston fan but I can assure you all of us regs are lovely people, albeit a bit mouthy at times!!!

I know exactly who you mean and on behalf of all slough fans would like to apologise.

I remember them as being in the bar myself I also pointed them out as being fans whose first game was Mansfield replay an they have decided to come back for more which of course I was saying was a good thing when I pointed it out

However to say that is disgraceful. Can only say sorry

I think these people need to be pointed out to our authorities the next time they appear at one of our games so they can be told what will happen to them if they continue with their behaviour.

If you point them out to me, then they will shamed in a different way, by having their photo online with an appropriate tagline.

To change the subject somewhat, the attendances in our league yesterday were shocking. Only two games in three figures ours and fleet v uxbridge. Quite how some of these clubs survive is beyond me.

It was a good game. Thought Royston were good going forwards and dreadful in defence. Warro made some great saves whereas their keeper was beaten at his near post a couple of times. Thought their five had a shocker too.
