Frankly, now that Rye are back in the Vase, this is none of my business.........but I noticed that, against Cranfield, John Phillips was listed in the Amersham team, now this was one of the names that was felt to be suspect on the Vase teamsheet and we had hard evidence that it was another player (I won't name him as we didn't need to pursue the second player as Amersham coughed to the first one).

If I was Cranfield, I'd be looking at this pretty hard, however. Just hoped they took photos of the game.

 

On the other hand, it could be completely kosher.........

I find it hard to believe that anyone is taking Amersham's results seriously.

Agreed who knows the extent of the cheating, fair bet to say they've been at it all season with a good number of players

Amersham are not exactly one if the better teams in the SSML.

Having tried to cheat Rye Utd what's to say they hadn't done it previously to reach the stage they were at.

Mud sticks, and whatever excuse they'd come up with its hardly likely they'd have a mile long queue supporting their reasons.

Not only have they tarnished their club, to a degree it leaves a sour taste towards the SSML in general, whether they take further action or not is up to them, guess we will all have our opinion as judge and jury.

I heard today from a reliable source that Amersham have admitted to 2 counts of playing players under assumed names in league games in November.

 

If you know anyone from Cranfield, I'd suggest you contact them to take a close look at that teamsheet from Saturday.

Lets be honest they are going to only admit as little as they can so safe to assume if they've admitted two its likely to be more especially since manager was quoted as saying the vase game was the ONLY time. Now that's changed to two more games in the league

Eddie Savage is obviously now signed on (named as no 7) Martin Griggs was at Tring last season and was one of those Amersham still named when he was actually transferred & playing for Athletic when they got caught out last time.

 

Next up for Amersham is Winslow away. How many cameras and camcorders can Winslow Boy arrange to film the match?
