Amersham Town

If they have repeatedly done it in the league with at least one and probably more they should seriously punished. Blatant cheating as Mississippi says (great film by the way)

I guess the problem now would be proof. Unless either Amersham admit the games in which they've cheated or there is photo / video evidence I can't see how the league can do anything at this moment in time.

Well if his name is on the team sheet and he has stated he hasn't played since early sept and had been tweeting etc during games which is easy enough to find out and has seemingly already been looked at by some I would say that is proof enough

@matthewdstone for anyone looking to check.

I must admit I've played in a few one sided games where i could have taken the gloves off & tweeted! Obviously a bit more difficult for an outfield player although you do get some very lazy centre forwards (not you WB)

In terms of league points you usually only see a deduction for the offending team. Think this is ok for purely an admin error but you'd like to think when it was deliberate cheating the opposition should be awarded the points

Haha I wasn't lazy I was just unfit and didn't like running. Will be interesting to see what happens as it has to be said it looks like repeated blatant cheating for me if the club want to rescue any reputation chairman, secretary and manager have to go. They are our next game at the gate on 25th I'm sure our secretary etc.. Will be studying their team sheet and twitter and Facebook profiles will be checked hahaha

Few years back we played Arsley Athletic and I think it was that Furness (quality player) was playing for them he was suspended but he played under a different name they had player

pics on their website but without photos of him

in the game we hadn't come prepared with

cameras and getting a decent shot of a player in

play on a pitch with a camera phone especially

then nigh on impossible so they got away with

it. Pretty disgraceful really.

Furny's still going strong at Codicote now, he probably still wanted to play against you WB so he could still try & get his goal bonus ! Lol

Great striker, never really fulfilled his potential though.

yeah he was their stand out player when we played them few weeks back, class act, great touch, movement and he always worked the keeper (similar to Robbie O'Dell who I have always rated). I can believe if he had dedicated himself he could easily have played higher just not fit (like I can talk) we drew that game against Arsley but probably would have won had he not played.

Looks like Bradford City FC have been at it now!

UP THE BEES!

A genuine adminstration error not an attempt to break the rules, they put a case forward but always likely to fail as a pro outfit should be on top of that stuff but people make mistakes. Good news for your mob though SB

1st time? Spur of the moment? 1st time theyve been caught. absolute joke. It's already been established that at least one players name has been used several times when he hasn't played. Unforgivable, if they are going to bare faced lie about it they should get absolutely hammered.

I know. I read this article and was staggered. They just don't get it do they?

Yeah unreal. We all know its hard to run a club at this level and the majority do it at a cost to themselves but cheating is cheating and then continuing to lie is just f/cking shamefull

I feel for the Amersham Town FC supporters.

Yeah supporters always the ones who suffer. To be fair in my experience they rarely have anyone watching the ground is out of the way

Somehow find it hard to believe they have a former professional on the coaching staff and never thought to get him signed on. If the manager has been there for 12 years he probably would have been the one caught before. But then you'd have to think the match / club secretary knew as well as the other players and half the people watching.

The chairman, committee, staff, players AND fans must have known. I wonder if those same fans we feel sorry for would have blown the whistle, had Rye not blown it first.

I doubt it.

And for their gaffer to say no apology is required, what bollox. They effectively tried to defraud their opponents to the tune of £1200!!

If I did that in my job, I'd get the sack, voluntary or not! But if the chairman and his committee were in on it too, I guess his job is safe....
