Welling v Billericay

Well you don't need to be Einstein to work out where we need to improve.

Two poor defensive decisions and the game was pretty much gone before we had started.

It was hard to believe we were three down at half time but wevd said that before. I thought Welling were better second half even though the half ended 2 2

Plus points good performances from Junior and Charlie and a first goal for Joe Benjamin. No more midweek games for a while now which will hopefully enable us to find away of defending better.

Onwards and Upwards. COYB!

We started quite brightly again but conceded another soft goal from their first attack. A needless penalty was converted and from there we were probably fortunate to only concede one more before half time.

There was a bit more effort second half without a huge amount of goal threat with their number 5 winning virtually everything in the air. Craig Edwards pulled a goal back which only seemed to stir them back into life and they scored another two straight after.

Joe Benjamin took his goal well at the end but 12 goals conceded from the last three and 9 in the last two league games tells its own story.

Back to winning ways hopefully Saturday.

One of our poorest performances for a while, particularly first half.

Personal opinion, but I don't like Junior at right back, and we looked so much more dangerous when he moved up when Collis came on.

I agree that Charlie played well again, but will somebody please teach him the offside law! I don't know what the count was last night for him alone, but his inability to stay on side just gifts the opposition the possession time and time again.

Jo Anderson again played well, but other than that, an evening best forgotten.

Similar theme. We had as much of the play but were defensively poor. I thought the goalie looked better.

Another toughie on Saturday but we are better at home so who knows.

Fair play to the Blue's fan's that made the trip. The roads were a mare and quite a few myself included opted for the Blackwall tunnel (Thank you TomTom) it took 1 blues fan from 5 till 7.30 to eventually get their via the bridge.

As it turned out (but i didn't realise it at the time) that was the best bit of the night.

Couldn't believe we gave away such sloppy goal's early on and some of our passing seemed to be aimed at the opposition rather than a blue shirt.

I felt sorry for Charlie as he ran his socks off again as did Joe Anderson. not sure what's happening with our defence but it's not even a shadow of last seasons rock solid setup.

Maybe we needed this defeat to kick us up the arse. Onwards & upwards lad's

Craig Edwards BLUE Army will be out in force on Saturday

I support Welling and received a SMS just before the game (7:16pm) saying some suspicious betting patterns on the HT FT result with all the money going on Welling. Whoever was behind this "gamble" were obviously correct. 3-0 at half time game over. Wouldnt have been anything to do with Welling as they had 6 players out injured.

It wasnt a text from just anyone, as i have a lot of contacts in Bookmakers trading rooms and other contacts on the punting side.

Wow, JgFc, you're brilliant and I'm well impressed that you've got such high profile contacts.

I hope you made a killing on it?

Please, please keep us informed of anything similar because I'm sure everybody is fascinated.

If you could possibly make it before the event next time though, that would be appreciated.

I think the Riccay boys deserve some credit for managing to throw a game despite Welling having so many injured - what an impressive bunch of lads they are.

Please hurry back to our forum soon - great to hear from you

We've lost 7 of 9 games on the road. That's either relegation form or preventing us from getting into the play-offs! We're an eclectic side, not knowing what we'll get from one half til the other let alone game to game. Welling worked hard, closed us down and we didn't match them. Like Dover they were organised, well drilled but nothing special. Second half was a bit better but the game was up. I hope we haven't seen the last of the Brazilian as he showed some decent touches again and he's also splashed all over the Billericay Gazette back page!

I've no evidence, but I would have thought it was pretty much impossible that anyone at Billericay would have thrown the game if that's what the suggestion is.

It's more beneficial to stay in this league surely? Someone just looking at the form guide methinks.

Definitely people jumping to conclusions.

There was a gamble on Welling and it came off. All sorts of people gamble, whoever bet Welling to win HT FT wouldnt have been a welling fan as Welling had 6 first teamers out injured. I never had a penny on and ignored the text. I didnt see any comedy own goals last night.

If it really is suspicious, the league wil ask the bookmakers for details of bets, locations etc etc. It could have been someone chasing from losing on the day and just smashed a huge amount on Welling.

Isnt it libellous to be accused of libelling ? People shouldnt assume things or spin peoples words.
