The Mayor Of Simpleton
Which teams, so far, have applied for promotion from the Combined Counties Premier League to the Ryman Division 1 South/Southern League Central Division and Combined Counties Division 1 to the Combined Counties Premier League? Also, which teams look likely to become part of the Combined Counties family next year (from Step 4 and Step 7?)

Adam you can't apply to be promoted to a specific League - you apply to be promoted and if successful are placed in a "feeder pool" - the FA then place you where they see fit (could for example be Kent League if Croydon qualified). Also there's no need (unless it's changed this season) for Div 1 sides to apply for promotion - it's automatic if they finish top 3 and have the necessary grading. I read somewhere that the FA will also control where promoted Step 6 sides will be placed - might not necessarily be in the same League so winning CCL Div 1 no longer guarantees promotion to CCL Premier (South Kilburn for example could be promoted to Spartan South Midlands). The Mayor Of Simpleton
Thanks for that Green Fingers, I thought that clubs had to apply for promotion from Steps 1-6 (I remember reading somewhere that even in the Conference Premier clubs have to apply for promotion?) It may well have changed this season (where is VP when you need him ). League rule: 13.3 Promotion, relegation and lateral movement of Clubs shall be in accordance with the principles established by the Leagues Committee of The FA. i) Any club with the intention of seeking promotion must notify its interest to the Competition Secretary no later than 31st December in any season. The Competition Secretary will then advise the names of all such clubs to the Leagues Committee of The FA by 31st January. ii) The Competition will accept the champion club, the runners-up and the third place club from Division One into the Premier Division, providing that they meet the standard grading requirements for entry to the Premier Division of the Competition. lazarus
I can confirm the following: Clubs wishing to be promoted from Step 5 to 4 must to the FA apply by 30 Nov. Clubs wishing to be promoted from Step 6 to 5 need not do anything at the moment, as promotion remains internal. Clubs wishing to be promotde from Step 7 to 6 must apply to the FA by 31 December
bomaya
It may well have changed this season (where is VP when you need him ). Yeah, the FA internalised the promotion from Step 5 to 4 this season as part of their review. Quite possible that no one will come down from Step 4 as Ryman 1 South will be going to 24 clubs. Remember we could possibly have two sides getting promoted from the CCLP if their ppg (points per game) is good enough. I would expect most of the top half of the Premier will apply for promotion. Think they all have the grading* and with anyone down to 5th place possibly going up (see above) then why not go for it?
VPCTFC
I can confirm the following: Clubs wishing to be promoted from Step 6 to 5 need not do anything at the moment, as promotion remains internal. I can see that changing in a year or two. And it wouldn't surprise me if the FA limited promotion from step 6 to two places as that's how many are allowed up from most step 6 leagues. We all know about the turnstile rule due to the Guildford saga. Last time I went neither Horley, Cove or South Park had a turnstile block. They've got time to get them up of course and good luck to them if they want to get promoted.

VPCTFC
Horley have turnstyles went in last season Good stuff. Perhaps you can sort out my one issue with Horley Town FC. You have a hand pump for proper beer in the bar but it's nearly always sold out when we play there. Can you get another barrel in a few days before we visit please? Cheers.
