Banstead 3-3 Spelthorne. Very disappointed not to win. We threw it away.

i watched and think you should be thankful for the draw. Spelthorne had numerous chances to win this game, especially the young lad Flatman , with probably 3 good chances. Then the cb at the back for Banstead not receiving a red for the blatant handball in the box. Which then 5 mins later the lump starts a massive pitch fight. Not a nice place to come at all, shame on Banstead

I am going to guess that

Someone has made a complaint that the thread is going to become yet another thread on here where personal abuse is going to be dished out by people hidden behind a user name.

Hmmm ... I agree re the penalty. However we had as many chances, I think its somewhat harsh to say he started a fight by being headbutted(!), not to mention the pitch invader from Spelthorne which was what inflamed the situation. And irrelevant of all that, I think its fair comment to say that going into injury time 3-1 up and not winning is throwing the game away whatever the circumstances.

I dont condone violence at football, but from where I was standing there was more then one pitch invader, and from both sides, but more from Banstead I would say. Glad that the players had sense not to let it get very silly and just kept it to handbags at ten paces as opposed to all doing what they kept threatening to do.

On a more sour note was the threatening behaviour by banstead players and supporters. Repeatingly saying "ive got a present for you in the boot of my car", and "Im going to do you in the car park afterwards". Even after the game comments of "Oi Im not done with you yet" as Spelthorne left the ground. Sad to see that what happens on the pitch doesnt stay there.

So TH, i read on another thread that Zico is one of the best players you've played against and you were at spelly yesterday which means you are a player. So care too share with me what spelthorne player you are?

The only supporter (which is what I meant by pitch invader) on the pitch was from spelthorne and it was him who was threatening people and escalated what until then was nothing. If you mean management, both came on in equal measure to help calm it down. I am certain none of our players said any of that after the match as I was with them and spelthorne had left by the time we left the changing room. I find it unlikely Banstead supporters said much primarily cos the only ones I was aware of were players girlfriends. I did however hear the supporter who ran on the pitch threaten a woman with a small child, and use words along the lines of your car park quote above so perhaps you confused him with a banstead fan.
