AnfieldTowner
Saddened to hear the news that Del Deanus has finally lost his battle with Motor Neurone Disease. Steve's programme notes on Tuesday were very timely - thoughts go out to Del's family and friends, Steve and all the players who will have been honoured to play under and with Del over the years. Twitter is alive with tributes to a great man who clearly influenced a lot of people. For anybody who's not yet had the chance to read it, Del's book 'Memories Never Die', is just about the most moving book you're ever likely to read. Del wrote it in support of mnda after he was diagnosed so now would be a very good time to buy it in honour of one of non league football's finest. RIP Del. Tom S
I feel privileged to have known Del, however slightly, in his year with the Town. The ways in which all the players rallied round to help him - from the visible things like injured players pushing his wheelchair across the Brimsdown pitch to the things behind the scenes that we didn't see - shows just how much affection they had for him. As AT has said the book is incredibly moving and if you haven't read it yet I urge you to do so.

Enfield United
I bought the book the first day either Steve or Del brought the books to the Downs. As others have said it is a good read, very moving at times and very funny at other times, a real genuine autobiography by a fella who wrote it for charity. He was a nice fella.
