Billericay Town Unofficial
...and it certainly was. Billericay started the first half looking very sharp and scored from their first two attacks. The second was from a rebound, with Billericay getting to the lose ball first. The Blues kept the pressure on for most of the first half. The second half started with Enfield actually completing more than two paces at a time and getting to every lose ball before Billericay did. Even with their good start Billericay scored a third which turned out to be far more important than most of us would have realised with Enfield scoring twice. The first goal was down to individual determination more than anything, the second was a shambles from a defensive point of view. All-in-all I enjoyed the game. Shame about the music (apart from Quo) and once I heard the bloody awful Robbie Williams start my ipod went on and stayed in.
Billericay Town Unofficial
Oh, and who on Earth chose the Fort Lauderdale Strikers tribute kit for Enfield?!
blue pilgrim
All I can say is that the Gaffer will not have been pleased with the boys today - 2 up in 10 and could or should have been 4-0 at half time. Felt we were coasting in the second half and allowed Enfield to play in front of us - we nearly paid the penalty. Still,in the hat for the next round and no bookings for two matches in a row !!!! jl
Pleased to get through to the next round and bank the cash. We statrted so well but got so sloppy. We have to play for 90 or it will cost us without doubt. Charlie Taylor was absolutely outstanding for us today and hopefully we can avoid the silly mistakes next week. Billericay Town Unofficial
When is the draw for the next round? Also, where was the minutes silence?! Surely you don't have to be on Match of the Day to observe it?
blue pilgrim
The draw is usually about lunchtime on Monday's - try the FA.com site. Agree about the minutes silence, particularly when we still have that stupid handshake saga before each game
Bill of Shenfield
James it certainly was a game of 2 halves and we did enough to blow them away in the first half. Thought that Charlie was unlucky not to have scored and thought the lino made some poor offside decisions in the first half and continued into the second but was thankful he did. Overall we won and in the hat for the next round.
Ryan.c
What to make of that?! Looked like we'd run riot then clung on for the win! Good entertainment with 4 grand in the bank and a place in the 1st round.
Umbrella Man
Didn't make this one due to man flu and still not congratulated the boys on a fine win. Well done fella's enjoy the next round
New Lodger
Cracking cup tie. I had visions of another 7-0 1st half but a mad couple of minutes halfway through the 2nd made for a jittery but exciting last twenty five minutes. I agree with jl that Taylor looked a class act and that Edwards and Wild had good games. Well done fellas
