Slough v Rugby

I've noticed you only turn up after Slough have lost Hotspur. Strange.

I am not in a position to comment too much on the club overall as I don't regularly attend matches but I think the overall picture is positive. The club is moving forward with plans for a new ground in Slough and, I could be wrong but, I think that the club is financially in an ok position as well. The FA Cup run is a huge bonus as well and I think that anything else (promotion etc.) is also a bonus and the long-term goal has to be about the new ground and the future of the club.

There was a statement on the Hearts site today about how we might not survive past the next home game (17th November). Reading that kind of thing makes you realise that the most important thing is the future of the club; not one defeat and especially not one defeat after a fantastic run of results.

So why do you come to games Hotspur, in your words, we are only dreaming, not going to make the play offs and need to get some "good players". Your comments on here are not helpful to the players or the club.

Of course there is a solution to this you could always stay after our home games and let the players and Steve Bateman know where they are going wrong (in your eyes), they are all usually in the club house after the game I am sure they would love to hear how you feel.

Although I been following Slough since 82, I've only just signed up to Non League.co.uk after spending an age just viewing posts.

Couple of observation questions for the regulars on here:

1) Is this hotspur girl actually a Slough fan (can't quite make out from her comments as some seem genuine, some seem like she's on a wind up).

2) I take it no relation to that ole ram wind up merchant fella, who appears to be one step from getting the cleenex out whenever Slough lose.

3) Stanley, sorry if already been asked, but I must have missed it, how comes you follow Slough mate? Whats the back story?

Cheers guys / gals : )

Just looking at the league table whilst waiting for the nurses to finish with dad.

Only the top team has let in less goals than us and we have scored 3 less than the top scorers.

All with games in hand which will see us go second if we win them.

Def not doom and gloom in my eyes.

Trust me, I should know at the moment !

Ha ha could be a girl Matt, but its not me I dont hide behind a keyboard with a false name.

Now older Ram there's a thought, he does not have anything sensible to say either !

Sorry to annoy you all but just saying how i see it- fifty years experience in the game tells me I know a bit more than you! As for your suggestion to meet the players and manager after the game really shows me that you are a dreamer too-having run many teams and played in quite a few, my experience tells me that only the truly good players listen, the rest think they know best.

I believe I have earned my spurs ( get it) to comment on my beloved Slough having shovellrd snow off the DOLPHIN pitch on many a saturday so the game could go on-also travelled all over the country for cup games-I believe the farthest being driving up to Whitby Town on a cold winters day.

I await the comments of the " 10 minute " supporters.

I cant compete with you on how long you have been supporting the club as I am no where near being even 50 years old but since for the last few seasons you have claimed we will never make the play offs and you have been proved very wrong in the last three seasons it seems that you experience (what ever it may be) has let you down in seeing the reality.

Steve Bateman and the squad have had a few critics in the last few seasons and they have silenced them each year, and I for one believe they are going to do it yet again for a forth year running.

COME ON YOU REBELS

COME ON STEVE BATEMAN !!!!!!!!!!

My nan grew up in Slough and met my Grandad (who was from Scotland). They then had three daughters in Slough (my mum and two aunts) and they moved up to Scotland when my mum was 11. Her old school (Thomas Gray Primary) was actually near where the new ground is planned to be but the school closed years ago. Years ago I was in London with my mum and we went to Slough and went to where she used to live. One of the houses is still there but the other is gone (though the street remains but has completely changed now).

I've always been a Hearts fan but when I was younger I remember checking the Conference table to see how Slough were getting on. Then I didn't follow it much for ages but a few years ago I started following their results online and now I check more regularly. I said years ago that I'd go to a match the next time they qualified for the FA Cup so I went to the Mansfield game. I'll go to the replay but that will probably be the last time I go for a long time though I would like to go to try to go to the first match they have in their new ground back in Slough.

Hotspur, I can outdo you then I've been supporting Slough since the Dolphin and played for Slough at Wexham, for the season we beat Millwall. Apart from that season I've seen every home league game since 1982.And a few away ones in the Conferance. And I've seen very game (including friendly's) for the last 2 seasons. I've even managed sides aswell.

I think we will at least make the play off

So that's not from a 10 minute supporter

Yes, ok. I'll bet £10 with the loser paying to money to the Supporters Trust. Come and see me before Saturday's game and shake on it.

I've seen you under a dozen times but I do follow closely on here & I would be very suprised if you don't make the play offs. I'm shocked that every time you lose some of you start with the we are rubbish blah blah blah stuff , I do find it very funny mind. SB's a good enough manager at this level to get you up, (although personally he went down loads in my opinion with his rocky horror outburst.) Lighten up folks you are in a great position, think yourselves lucky you don't live in Woodford Halse
