Be interesting to see if (hopefully) we have picked up a few new faces due to our cup run

potentially difficult match which we will have to be prepared for in the right way mentally. i think the enforced changes of the 3 suspended players will probably help in terms of mindset and also tiredness after Saturday's mammoth effort.

Dave Deeney also out injured which makes a central defender and 3 midfielders missing tonight.

will be a real test of the squad depth but also a great chance for those who haven't been playing to prove themselves and make an impression.

The enforced changes might work in our favour. Will be good to have Jake Parsons back in but we'll need to play well to avoid an "after the Lord Mayor's show" situation as Rugby will be strong.

Also a big test mentally and physically for the players after their efforts on Saturday.

 

Rugby have new signings David Kolodinski and Ashley Robinson, both from Bedworth, in their ranks, two very good players who know how to score goals.

Robinson has signed for Daventry and we do have Kolo on board. You will see a very different Rugby team from the last couple of seasons with a lot of new players. Will be in the bar before and after for a chat. well done on last sat btw

What the hell happened?? . We were in total control in the first half and playing well then individual errors cost us two goals and a player (not Murphy's fault). Really really frustrating although slightly inevitable after the weekend's exploits. Need to do better and not give goals away.

Wow 0-0 at ht them down to ten with a crippled keeper and that happens!!! Ahhhh. Feel sorry for smurf sending off not his fault at all. Gutted.

It is disappointing but not unexpected after Saturday and giving the players we had missing, still a very long way to go, need to go on another run but with the wins coming in the league more often than the cups now!

So Gutted and angry at what I've just seen.

 

For fear of upsetting some people, I think I'd better refrain from saying what I really think.

 

All I will say is it was a pathetic excuse for what can only be loosely described as a team performance.

I think Ian is asking the right question - what the hell happened?

First half we did everything but score, we were so comfortable it was unreal and Rugby were never in the game. Second half was just terrible. Why did no one tackle the one man who took on our entire team in the first ten seconds of the half? We all saw who was at fault in the run up to Murphy's sending off and the second goal, and he should definitely know who he is, it was just awful. We gifted them two goals.

To be fair things improved and we pulled back the goals, including that excellent goal from Smith. But while Rugby sat back with a flat back four, we ended up with two defenders on the wrong side of our half all the time and that let in Rugby for their third.

We should have comfortably won that game but stupid individual mistakes cost us.
