Billericay 0 Weston SM 0

Recommended Posts

Well, wasn't that fun.

It was generally scrappy with too much hoof and hope.

Was a bit surprised at the language from the bloke I'm told is involved with the club and the choice of 'Orgasm Addict' by The Buzzcocks before the game. One particular line about 'f***ing yourself to death' was played very loudly over the tannoy as a man and his child walked under it. Next week 'Too Drunk To F***' by The Dead Kennedy's.

Dispite all this and the cold weather, I still enjoyed myself and I've still never seen Billericay lose!

James,

Suggest you come and join us over the far side as the tannoy is disconnected and blissfully we couldn't make out what that rubbish was !!!

Back to the game, I thought that it was a fair result, with both defences on top. WSM looked well organised and at times stretched us. We had little joy up front with very few opportunities. On the other hand the visitors hit the post and our keeper saved us at the end with a full length save. Point gained, rather than 2 lost methinks.

Thought Collis and Wild were our best players. Played in a good spirit, with no bookings - well done ref. Crowd 395

In entertainment terms I thought it was probably the worst game I've seen this season. WSM clearly set up looking for a draw and in the event they could have won it.

Happy to take a point and move on to the next game. We can do better than that but it does take two to tango.

As for the music, maybe we need to take a bit more care on the selections but I'm always pleased its not the bland old rubbish were subjected to at most grounds.

0 0 - no harm done. On to the next game. COYB!!

I completely agree about the general selection of music, I have to suffer Heart at work. I did forget to mention that I like the Buzzcocks and all was forgiven from my point of view when they played Nazareth!

Blue Pilgrim, thank you for the invite but I know someone that stands in the Cowshed and his mates are a good laugh.

As for the game, WSM were a far better side than Dorchester and Havant.

Roll on next Saturday!

I don't deny it's a good track by a good band but it's not appropriate for a family club.

That video has been 'disabled by request' for some reason

I will however complain about them playing anything by The Who. Please take pity on us and not assault our hearing with it again.

I always say that when it comes to 'entertainment' at a football ground you can't beat your own ipod!

Piss poor officiating throughout the game. Fair result on the balance of play. If anything they were very unlucky not to nick one in the second half.

I'll say no more on the referee other than he was probably the worst I have seen for as long as I can remember.

Both sides had shared 83 league goals before kick-off, so 0-0 was almost inevitable! We looked below par but gained a point and a clean sheet against what I thought looked a decent side Weston side. We've slowly turned it around from the opening 6 games and a couple of back to back league victories would put us up near the play-offs!

I agree Ryan, we have seen entertaining games all season so I guess we due a bit of a naff one. We looked much better defensively again and Dorchester beat Plymouth today so they must be a good team.

The music was bloody great.

James, I hope you didn't get too cold standing in the cowshed listnening to the play list. Our music is part of what we do, some like it some don't, some bloke called Abraham Lincon had an iquiry into it, and his advice was to follow the lead of Bo Kirkland & Ruth Davies, but with a bit less swearing.

A scrappy game, but the big positve was no goals conceeded. Just to put my two penneth re the ref. I thought he tried to do the right things, he could have blown his whistle a lot more, but he chose to let the game flow, play advantage, and not book anyone.Apparently there is a bloke called Abraham Lincon :D

The football is sooo much better than the Ryman, I'm really enjoying it, long may it continue.

Generally the playlist is FAR better than most other football grounds, I have plenty of songs on my ipod with some choice language but I wouldn't play them out in public.

Keep up the good work.

Back to the game, I thought Weston were one of the better team we played, from the first whistle they got the ball down and played it around, which gave them the confidence, unfortunately we couldn't get ourselves on the ball and start to play our game.

We need to learn from teams like Weston because they have been in the division for a while and I don't think we are far from having a squad capable of keeping us here!

Big effort Saturday please lads and lasses!

Actually I put the play list to entertain and therefore try to balance with classics with some obscure and the. With some surprises. Fair enough "orgasm addict" was a poor choice but the Buzzcocks are so much more than their one hit... I ummmed and ahhhed about it a then said sod it, who will notice. I obviously under rate my support... (Joke... I would never under mine Blue Pilgrim who thinks that 8 should be consigned to the devils own room of silence never to be heard again).

I will continue to surprise and treat. I try to cater to all tastes BP and one day, I may get that one song that you like...

At present, Midnight Rambler is pumping out... Enjoy
