no interest personally in IT stuff-just as long as it works and is very simple.

However- i found that interesting and informative and thank all those involved.

good to see off pitch stuff progressing ( in anticipation of us playing at a higher level we all hope ! )

The primary job of the website is as a communication and promotional tool so the "monetizing" is indirect if you like. Clearly no one from Swaziland is going to come to a match but others living a shade closer do based in part on using the website. As I've said on previous occasions, we have a clear strategy to "tell the fans first" which we do primarily through the website, so even if we just do that and help to keep people coming through the turnstiles, the site has done its job.

There are two ways we currently monetize the site. One is through additional promotional coverage for sponsors and advertisers and the second is through E-Ticketing. And we will continue to look at other ways to do so; for example we could extend what we offer through the on-line shop which at the moment is exclusively tickets and in the future we could introduce a pay wall and offer exclusive content for a subscription. But we have to be realistic about the size of the club and the level at which we play.

I think that monetizing any site is a challenge in the current climate.

Direct advertising is not as easy to attract as it was, simply because companies are more frugal with what they spend.

The other option is an affiliate such as google. This would mean adverts for things like dating sites appearing which could end up being detrimental to the site. Even then, views only would not generate much income so would rely on people to actually click on the ads.
