You know people are going to question why your playing div1 instead of prem or higher when you say something like that

I was simply asking why half their team went back into div 1 after winning promotion. Say for instance I won promotion with lammas this season I wouldn't drop back into div 1 the next season!

I think half went to thatcham and the other half to E&C. they played all year to get promoted only drop back down a league....

Exactly Brunty thats what I find so strange, how they fought all year too get promotion and then left. You could understand people leaving if ya got relegated but getting promoted, having a decent team and then leaving is strange.

I see your point but if half the llamas team left and the manager as well would you not think about moving? If the players the new manager bought in weren't as good?

Tough to answer because I know for a fact no one would leave Lammas with the current management we have now unless for a good bit of wedge or to play a real decent standard. It's hard for me to answer that as all of us at staines are all close mates off the pitch. I understand your point tho. How many went to thatcham then?

I thought virtually the whole lot went to Thatcham and started pre-season there before a few ended up down at Eversley with others following

You could be right NLN, I know a 5 or 6 are at Eversley now.

Off topic but was at Ashford ground today, are all those vans parked in there on match days ? Also went in the cafe on London road just down from ground. Shit hot breakfast mmmmmm.

With Neville Roach now dOwn at Eversley too I'm sure we'll see even more ex Hartley Wintney/Thatcham players follow him there - I don't imagine he would have been too impressed with what he saw last week though, losing 6-0 to another team challenging for promotion and having your best player sent off....

 

Although did I read on another thread that Knaphill were in for him??

I think the reason why some of them play in Div1 is because its easier than the Prem and they can go out and get Bollixed the night before and not have to train properly and also they can continue this mates thing and they can also pretend they are semi pro footballers with each other.

Utter rubbish Duncs. Yes the standard is better but there is not this huge gap in class between the 2 divisions. I bet there are as many players in the prem go out the night before as in div 1. And not that many do i bet.
