Alton Town FC Looking At Extinction. Please Help.

Recommended Posts

Lovely club, Alton and I'll be sad if it does get forced to move. Got this in my email today:

We'd like to let you know that our supporters are organising a SUPPORT ALTON TOWN FC DAY on Saturday March 2nd....

"On that day Alton Town are at home to Hayling in the Wessex League and we are asking supporters to turn out to the game in record numbers. THIS COULD BE YOUR LAST CHANCE TO SAVE THE CLUB. We aim to beat the record attendance of 500 against Aldershot and show Coors that they need to back down in their decision to evict the club in ONLY THREE MONTHS TIME."

"You can help by spreading the word about March 2nd – to friends, neighbours, schoolmates, workmates, all football fans. Bring the kids – let them forget the big teams for the day and see their local side in action. They may never get another chance. We will be producing posters so let us know if you can distribute them or better still do your own. We need Alton to come together on March 2nd. BE THERE."

SUPPORT ALTON TOWN DAY – MARCH 2nd – SAVE OUR CLUB

This message is from Jim McKell - Chairman who started the petition "Save Alton Town FC," which you signed on Change.org.

For any Twitter users (I'm not one), retweet the Alton Town message and see if Rio Ferdinand, Gary Lineker, Robbie Savage etc. will RT and back the campaign.

The backing of some of football's big hitters will be a major boost.

Chubby, after a few recent events with them, I will have to agree with you.

They well and truly threw the baby out with the bath water - all I will say for now.

  • 2 months later...

Knowing a few people in the brewing trade, I am not surprised by this at all.

I would watch out if Molsom Coors tries to TUPE the workers over to new contracts as well.
