A new book just published by David Bauckham

Over two seasons David Bauckham photographed and interviewed volunteers at the various non-League football clubs he visited on his travels. These individuals, and many like them are the 'lifeblood' of the National Game without whom many clubs simply would not survive. Their words reflect the general views of 'non-League people': what football at this level means to them, why they do what they do, and just as importantly, the challenges they face, and continue to face on a weekly basis.

With over 70 interviews and portraits, from Club Presidents and Secretaries, to Programme sellers and Turnstile operators, 'Love Not Money' is an essential purchase for anyone who cares about non-League football, whether they are a club official, player, supporter ... or volunteer

I know of a few strikers needing a side at Step 4, Johnno. Give me a message if interested.

Got one early Christmas present in the post just now: Football Manager Stole My Life.

The second early Christmas present arrives on Friday, so if I go MIA it's because I'll be on Football Manager 2013.

I will be looking forward to watching the Geordies take 3 points at Old Trafford on Boxing Day :438:

That'll be the best present ever!!

Personally, I'd like to see an end to this silly talk of a "Black Players Union" as being touted in the national press.

NO - That is NOT racist remark on my part.

If this goes ahead, certain players will start pushing for a "White Players Union."

We could be approaching pitch-apartheid

Completely agree John,

It's extremists in any walk of life that give organisations a bad name - be it religion, politics, sport etc.

If anything, Ferdinand is a bigger racist (imho) than Terry - however because he's black it's somehow alright.

When Martin Luther King made his famous 'I Have A Dream' speech, he wanted fairness and equality. Ferdinand and co. are undermining all that.
