dflman
Pathetic really - blame the weather of course (well I got soaked going to, during the game and going home again) In fact the weather gave us our goal when their defender slipped on the pitch. You just knew they would score that free kick.
Coffin Ender
Yes, I will let you go first. Game we ought to have won, Hastings were there for the taking. First half, a non-event but we were well on top second period. But football at this level is all about being effective in each box and we didn't get the second goal which would have sealed it. Really not happy tonite as Im one of the staunch supporters of our team come thick or thin, but we as a team need to start getting it together ASAP cos the fair weather types will be leaving in their droves and TBH who could blame them. Who is to blame, I really couldnt give a toss but please get it together soon as we will be another team wondering where our support has gone........... SteveB
I personally think that the only thing that went wrong today was the finishing. I thought we coped with conditions quite well and created stacks of openings without turning enough of them into chances. Hastings were awful and we had by far the lions share of possession. However, for our 20 chances we got the same number of goals as they did with their 2. If we had got a 2nd at any point we would have been home and dry. Cookie
Well we started off really well yesterday and were looking good for the points against the worst team I have seen at Hartsdown this season. Were they resting players I wonder for the FA Cup?. Anyways we did do better today but was that because of the inferior opposition or was it that we raised our game. A little of both I suppose.Gutted once again that we gift the opposition with a point so late on in the game but I for one could see it coming as we just didnt put things to bed sooner. Have been a critic of Whitnell lately but for the first time today he actually showed me something . Still not overly convinced about him but am happy to see him get more involved and to be of more assistance to others Oh, he did give away a few balls too which was annoying but overall did better than he had done previously. Maybe he is about to show his true form more often from now on.Lets hope so. I'm sad to always see my man Dolby only coming on for a few minutes near the end. Yes he has had substitutes roles previously and let himself down sadly and had one full game but this lad needs a good run in the side from the off and for the full 90 minutes.Only then will we benefit from his undoubted talent. A few full games under his belt and belief in his ability & will see him do as I believe he will do. Be magical. Similarly to Whitnell, given a sustained run in the starting line up and despite under par performances he should be perservered with & things will eventually click and then we will have results come back in our favour. Why oh why no Bodkin from the off again. I'm getting a bit annoyed now that he is once again being overlooked for a starting role.In his ew role in midfield he should be the first player penned in to play i.m.o. Hope Sam Long gets back to fitness sooner rather than later as he is a shadow of his former self at the moment. We certainly miss his true form at the moment.Hurry up and get fit again Sam. I'd still prefer to see Alaile at the back. Ball wasnt that good today and I think there is a case for Alaile to come back in. In midfield Stubbs is having a good few weeks though I'm not overly impressed with Corneilles contribution lately. Dosent do anywhere near enough for me. My starting midfield would be Stubbs, Bodkin & Avery with Dolby out wide on the right (because of Sams Longs need to get back to full fitness) . My back line would include Alaile. Anyways another 2 points dropped but still in the top 5 though having played more games than others.Thats one good thing I suppose. We haven't dropped too far down the table despite our current form but we do need to shut out games earlier and to close up games more often for this to continue. Gerald Threegoals
I think Cookie has got it pretty much spot-on as far as team (mis-) selection is concerned. Corneille is a battler but rarely manages a pass to his own team and Stubbsie rarely fulfills his potential, usually because he tries to be too clever. Ryan Dolby probably does need a run in the side - much as Adam Burchell would have benefitted from more support from his manager last year. Whitnell was good yesterday - he could do with a goal, though, to improve his confidence. And Bodkin MUST start! I think the team did enough to beat a poor side yesterday - in the end it was some good saves by their keeper that stopped us getting the win. Coffin Ender
The only thing wrong with this team currently is the number of goals it is scoring. We are creating enough chances. The sooner Rook is firing on all cylinders, the better.

Bluegatefan
I must say reading the gospel according to St. Anthony only rivals Spike Miligans autobiography for humour and fiction. It has put me in a good mood for the day though.
