From Non League Matters - Progress On Aylesbury United?

Recommended Posts

Last night Aylesbury Vale District Council agreed to meet with the club to discuss the idea of moving back in to the town.

Cabinet member for leisure, Councillor David Thompson, said there must be a business case for the move and no decision had yet been made.

Mr Thompson said: “Our door is always open but you [the club] need to come forward with your ideas and plans for your club.

“We will do everything we can to support this club and any other sporting club in the Vale.”

Of course the 'other' Aylesbury club are not happy with this and I dare say this has a long way to go. But it's a postive move for now and fingers crossed the town of Aylesbury will get their famous club back.

From a neutral POV it sounds good, and hopefully the Ducks can come home soon.

A shame that a new council-owned stadium couldn't have been built near to the Aylesbury Vale Parkway station. Berryfields and Weedon Hill could have been built at the same time as a new stadium there (maybe even to Conference or League standard).
