The Mayor Of Simpleton
From their website: "It saddens me to have to let you know that our landlords, Molson Coors, have given us notice to quit the ground at the end of this season. They have the legal right to do so. As you are probably aware, they have been looking to develop the site for some time and attempts have been made for us to be relocated to a new stadium, at Coors' expense, but these have failed. Now they just want us out while they negotiate with the Council about making a contribution towards sport & recreation rather than relocating us to a new stadium. We have met as a committee and management group to look at the implications and possible solutions and you can be sure that we will do our best to keep the club in existence, although the size of the task should not be underestimated. In the meantime your support, in whatever measure, is vital." http://altontownfc.com/news-121024-2.php http://www.nonleague...;guest=83198862
Big J R
More clubs to suffer like this in the near future, I'm told.
The Mayor Of Simpleton
It's a shame that barely a season goes by without a club in some sort of trouble. Barnstaple Town (Western) are said to be close to folding, Hereford United are running out of money and there's turmoil over the ownership of Lincoln City. I just wish that there was one season where no clubs went bust or under.
