Mansfield Town away - dress code suggestion!

A few people on here have suggested that our great win at Gosport was tainted slightly by the thought that our dear friend Chris Sliski wasn't there to see it.

I remember after the Walsall game as the crowd had almost completely drifted away and I was wandering around the terrace in a daze hugging the few familiar faces still around. Chris was still out there of course, doing what Chris did, i.e walking around and tidying up and generally doing whatever needed doing. I recall his beaming smile as we shared our disbelief at what we'd just seen. Priceless.

Anyway, he'd have loved to see his team in the first round proper again so who is up for declaring our trip to Mansfield as "Chris Sliski shorts day??!" Whatever the weather, let's see if we can take Chris there in spirit.

I'm in!

Reality is we're in a stand that seats 1800. We'll take 300 at most. You can sit at the bloody side on your own but you WILL be there!!

Wish I could confirm my place - going to have to chip away at her indoors for a bit longer yet methinks

Errr BFR, I remember you walking miles and miles for the STFC cause and injuring yourself in the process. Despite that you were still at the Bryco Cup Final that night. In the face of adversity and all that. Not only do I want you to be at Mansfield, you deserve to be there. Make it happen!

I am pretty certain Phil will as he (like Chris did) loves his shorts and I think Aidan will certainly be persuaded.

Suppose Lycra is out of the question??????

If you want to wear Lycra, Sue, you are welcome as long as they are shorts.

Great idea but I cannot join in as anyone who has seen my legs will understand.

The last time I wore shorts a lady told me I had two bits of white cotton thread dangling from my shorts - I had to say EXCUSE ME BUT THEY ARE MY LEGS.

However, I'm willing to go topless if LYCRA SUE will join me.

While I applaud what you're planning...there is a reason for the brass monkeys carrying welding irons in Mansfield!

Seriously - we're on the downslope from the Peak District, and if the wind is from the east, we're the first high ground in the UK that the winds from the Urals hit - and Field Mill is pretty exposed, so be careful of the wind chill.

On the plus side, King's Mill Hospital A&E is pretty close on the A38 for those of you with frostbite!

One other thing - you may not be in the North Stand - if you are, they'll section it off and put you behind the goal. They may decide to put you in the West (Ian Greaves) Stand on the lower tier at the North end - the stand holds 5,500, and we've been averaging just over 2,000, so you might find they only open the one stand
