Are they taking the p155

Recommended Posts

As I said on the other thread, the minimum the FA will allow them to charge is £10 (adults). Although their usual price is £15 I'm surprised they didn't reduce it to that level for this game. I can understand a Mansfield fan not being especially excited about paying £15 to watch Slough Town.....without realising how awesome we are of course!

Mansfield are broke, and Keith Haslam is trying to get back in as Chairman.

Coventry city v arlesey is only £10 entry

Given that they are likely to have 30 or 40 complimentary tickets that means there will be no Arlesey fans paying at the gate - Directors, officials and supporters will all get in on comps. It just depends how much they choose to charge for the dog.

Interestingly, on the Stags forum there is a lot of blame being put on our club for the pricing - the minnow out to make a fast buck. The prices have to be mutually agreed, so I wonder which party suggested £15 as a good idea? It represents quite a jump in cost for us, whilst for them, that's normal league pricing, so many are reluctant to pay that to see little old Slough. I'd have thought our club would be happy to see more through the gate and a lower ticket price of £10-12. Many are suggesting a possible gate well below 2,000 as a result.

I think the attitude amongst some (not all, of course) is "it's alright for Slough to want prices to be £15 at Field Mill, but they'll only charge their lot £10 if there's a replay". I would agree with the fact that £15 is a little steep. Not that it would stop our fans travelling up there though!

Who says the clubs have to agree pricing? They don't. Mansfield have chosen to charge £15 - it's got absolutely nothing to do with STFC. The FA dictate a minimum adult price of £10 for the first round proper and that's what we've gone with. Mansfield could have decided to charge £10 also but chose £15. The only stipulation is both sets of fans have to be charged the same.

If Mansfield fans want to point blame it should be at their own club.

Apologies - I was obviously mistaken when I thought there was some consultation between the two clubs. I thought that's how it worked!

I'm pretty sure Matt we'd have suggested lower as the reaction from their fans was quite predictable.

Normal price for folk who sit in the west stand is £18, so £15 is a reduction, however seats behind both goals are normally £15.

Would be surprised if total attendance is more than 1500. Just lately there have been about 2000 home fans for league games, however just over 1000 are season ticket holders and expect a few of them to give this game a miss.
