Travel advice for Tuesday (Gosport)

Ian

Recommended Posts

Gosport have suggested that the M27 is particularly bad in rush hour and it takes at least 45 minutes from the motorway to reach their ground for a midweek evening game. So the advice is that if you want to be at the ground for 7pm you need to be off the M27 no later than 6:10pm and the later it gets the worse it gets.

As a former local resident, good advice, though if you are able to travel earlier, you may wish to enjoy the delights of the Gosport waterfront and a few fine pubs, chip shops, or other eateries. A truly fine historic place, run down in recent years, but well worth spending a few extra hours in (work commitments permitting, of course).

Good luck for the game. I watched my Dad's team win a promotion play-off there, all of 45 years ago!

I always wished that Gosport and Ashford Town met in a league fixture, but events including the geographical divide between Ryman and Southern League conspired against that dream.

All the best to Slough Town. Good club, and great supporters.
