Injuryprone - non CCL

They say don't give excuses but I'm going to ha ha. They are a very good side with two great forwards and 2 strong wingers. We started with 2 of our normal back 4 with one of them who is a right footed centre half at left back. He then went off injured with a hamstring injury after 5 minutes so I had a centre midfielder at right back, a right back who has played 1 game so far for us at left back and a player from our vets alongside our skipper at centre half. I had two strikers in centre midfield meaning 2 of our front 3 wouldn't usually start.

But they are a strong side who played to their strengths who would of beaten us anyway but not by 8.

My pals are the two strikers, they should be playing first team for us. I also heard your manager resigned after the game! Word down Laleham they had 7 of their first team missing!! Maybe it would of been more!!

I was the manager ha ha it was always my last game in charge anyway just a shame it happened yesterday after that poor result. Yeah they should be playing higher. It might have been just giving my perspective of our side.

Matt Adams is one of the best natural finishers I've seen in a long time, I've tried to sign him when I was at Bedfont Sports and Knaphill, we tried to get him to play for the first team at Lammas as well but he doesn't like the old managements way, he will score plenty of goals at that standard as would most of Laleham side, I would like to see a few of them play higher but at the end of the day these boys work hard all week, so why not have an easy enjoyable game at the weekend with your mates, if your not getting paid then why try and play at a higher level with strangers, I think on this forum we all have rose tinted glasses on when it comes to looking at our own football careers, I should of trained and played at a higher level but I preferred to play with my mates as well.

Although I regret it now and wished I did push my self to play at a higher standard.

Ellers at 28 I have realised the same and I am now trying to work hard at getting fit to play at CCL standard which is weird as I turned down a chance to play at CCL level at 16 because I wanted to play higher but fell off the wagon so to speak at 18 and thought going out every night was a better use of my time and rocking up on a saturday 30 minutes before kick off to score 30+ a season at intermediate level was a good laugh.

What I have come to realise since is that not training but playing sat then sun without much warm up is what caused me to have pulled both hamstrings twice, right calf once, left calf twice multiple ankle ligament, 2 knee injurys, 2 groin injurys and a broken ankle since the age of 21.

Duncs I am aware it's because I wasn't fit that's what I meant when I said not training caused me to get injured all the time. BMI doesn't mean much in terms of athletic fitness I was always around 23 but currently I am struggling at 28 which is bad but that's just how it is.
