League Cup

Positives? Reduced chance of fixture congestion later in the season?

To be fair it looked close to Brentwood's first XI while we had pretty much a second XI - only Jordan started from Saturday's team and he was a late replacement for Mitch - so I'm not sure too many conclusions can be drawn.

Its a tough one to call. Obviously the League cup along with Middx cups are used to give the squad/fringe players a run out and get some match fitness into them so staying in these cups would be of benefit for these players, if we got a few injuries to first team players then these squad/fringe players would have a little bit more game time under their belts.

However that said, being knocked out of these cups means less fixtures to juggle about & as a club we can focus on the league and consolidating our Ryman Prem status along with hopefully a few more games in the Trophy.

Yes its disappointing to lose but will this result by a 'second string' have any effect on how the first XI play on Saturday? I doubt it.

Another Home defeat.

Another game with a ZERO in the goals scored column.

And this defeat to a Ryman North team who are 4th from bottom in their league and have been on a bad run !!!!!

An positives to come from the game ??

Is'nt it the first home game we have'nt scored in this season???? And that with reserve Troy and young Bryan up front, so I would'nt look too deeply into that as between them they missed 3 1v1 situations.

Dave Kendall, Neil Johnston, Pennant, Jay, Lee Allen, Joey Stevens all got 90mins which was good.

Otherwise Nothing positive or negative other than the 0-1 statistic. Someone told me that Div 1 North/South sides have been winning this cup the past few seasons, if true, it says a lot in the importance of it the senior clubs hold it in.

Move on guy's, looking forward to the Bognor Game and might treat myself with score on us at 4/1 to win. Bognor are 6th in the league but have not really played any top sides other than Wealdstone and Margate of which they lost both.

We are playing good football, but not defending well enough, we are capable of improving our defensive performances and will always score goals. I'm backing us to win 2-1, 3-1.

Yep, had a great night in the shop! Managed to sell all the old non league directories & loads of badges to groundhoppers.
