Burnham Ramblers 2 Enfield Town 3

Recommended Posts

First half was fairly uneventful with Town fielding a very experimental side including a new keeper. Chopper wasn't well and a good chance to try the new boy. Burnham Ramblers are a young team but far from easy to beat.

At half-time it was all change and Brad Brotherton and Adam Gant took the early bath for Graeme Hall and Peter Ulatowski to come on.

Graemes first touch was a fairy-tale, a header in the net with no chance for the keeper. Five minutes later Brad quinn went in to head home another good header for the second. Town were really cooking on gas and Ian Cooper decided to get in on the act hit home the third after his 6 weeks or so of injury. So both guys back from injury scored and one back from suspension. Towns defence then decided to have a ramble of their own and allowed the super fast strikers from Burnham to sneak two comparatively soft goals.

Burnhams keeper was a good sport and lots of good banter was had.

Verdict on the new town keeper - too early to say but if he wants to give Chopper some healthy competition for the No 1 shirt I think Chopper might need to get into coaching mode first.

A very enjoyable game if you missed it. And it was the first time town had a lady referee and apart from the "shouldn't you be at Lakeside dear comments" every time she made a decision that might not have been correct. It was nice to have a ref with no particular baggage so to speak.

Burgers were of special note and were excellent

Was a good Chant about Lakeside.

Burgers had flavour.

Game wasn't bad; did miss disco Dave when he went off injured; and that is where they hit us down their right hand side.

and off we go next week, to the back of beyond.
