Might be a bit crowded with Dartford playing at Stonebridge Road on the same day. Next alternative please ?

Lose 50 points for poor research Nigel.

A quick check of the Dartford website says that they are playing on Saturday 27th, although I suppose it could be a typing error!

The Gate fans get ever more annoyed with Dover, looking at their message board - one can scarcely blame Dover for getting what they could from the deal - you can bet your bottom dollar that Margate would have done the same had the positions been reversed (no doubt we'll get Gate fans denying this, but would anyone really not get as much as poss from such a deal?) - And Gate must have looked at other options at the time, so if Dover was too expensive, they could have gone elsewhere, if cheaper alternatives were available.

And no-one forced Gate to "build" (if thats the right word at the moment) a new stadium after all.

Mind you, its apparently half the distance to Ashford than it is to Dover, from Gravesend (according to a post on the Gate board) so a help to us on Boxing Day anyway !!

Well at least Ashord are away on Boxing Day, but can you honestly see the pitch being fit to play on in December.

Besides Ashford is nowhere near being close to Conference Standard, so I can't see that Margate will be allowed to play league matches there. If they are then it makes a complete mockery of all the work that other clubs did to get their grounds fit for promotion.

I think this matter is a long way from settled.

Margate's replay with Grays tomorrow has been switched to Ashford as Dover won't let them use the Hoverspeed Stadium until a deal is agreed for the rest of the season.

I don't know which source is correct on this one Dave, but confguide claims that according to Margate, a deal is in place to play at the Crabble until December, but it excludes cup ties, and they couldn't agree on a one-off fee for the Grays replay.
